Yesterday was the best offensive game in a long time, yet we only had a very pathetic 3 points in the first half. If we don't have the best defense in college football, we lose. Crowton should be gone.

IF which is a major IF the qbs look great the next several games, the games are well called, AND we win out he may stay and i would be ok with that i guess. However even with all that I dont know that its guaranteed that he stays. I think Jimbo left under similar circumstances. He may not have been "fired" but more of a mutual parting of ways that I could see happen with Crowton and Miles. JMO.

Well Miles needs to cut Gary's salary in half.

LSU's sucesses the last coupla seasons have come despite Crowton. Miles is no genuis, but he knows this.
Forget the record, if Miles pushes for Crowton to return, he will have put more of his OWN chips on the table against demonstrably bad odds.
Les is not that stupid at 12-1 or 9-4. Neither is Alleva.
I hope.

Lets say Lsu goes 12-1 this year and wins the sugar bowl...

So with that record, how does anyone see crowton getting fired?

Well. Frankly, two straight 100+ finishes on offense SHOULD get ANY OC fired.

It is perfectly possible to be the weak link on an otherwise very strong chain.

I think that Crowton will be gone after this year either way. Look at the 2 Qbs we are recruiting in Stephen Rivers and Zach Mettenberger. Neither one is a mobile QB who could run Crowton's spread offense. I think we will be moving to a more pro style offense next year and Crowton will have another job. Les is planning it out and is recruiting the QBs to run it.

I spoke with an ex-LSU player that said Crowton and Les just don't work well together. Said they are both great guys, just different philosophies. There's seemingly no cohesion because Les changes the plays being called to go with his philosophy of the game. That being said, if JJ continues to play like he did the second half you'll see that the play calling will look more like 2007 and the Wizard will be back.
