He quit on the team because he got benched.

Are you comparing Garrett Nussmeier to one of the greatest defensive playmaker in cfb history?

I'm stating facts. Nuss was not a good qb at lsu and he quit when he got benched. I'm sorry that hurts your feelings.

He was good enough to play until he got benched. We both know he keeps playing if he doesn't get benched.

13-8

Matt Flynn’s was 13-7 in 2007 but that’s ok we need our narratives.

Love you brother but Nuss was never a good qb at lsu. Hope all is well with the family.

Just a few differences between those situations…

Additionally while he is fondly remembered for obvious reasons no one tries to act like the 2007 Flynn season is one of the best seasons lsu has had for a qb.

I’m comparing circumstances an all time great left us in because he was a dumbass and couldn’t grow- up and accept responsibility. Coating his team a shot a title, which was a hell of a lot worse than a shitty season by a shitty coach with FAR less talent around him than Ty did.

The circumstances and potential matters when comparing 2 situations where 2 athletes hurt their respective teams.
Mathieus poor decision making hurt his team and teammates far worse than Nuss.

Hope you’re well too buddy, we just disagree here. You can’t throw for over 4,000 yards and 29TDs with no running game, no oline and sub par WRs without being good. It would be like bashing Hodson for going 4-7 while putting up big numbers his Sr. Season. Fans were just a little smarter back then.

Tm didn't leave. He was kicked off. Nuss was OK to play until he was benched. That's quitting imo.

Flynn was 14-7 in 2007 unless sports reference is wrong.
He also added 225 yards rushing and 2 tds on the ground.

You can when all we did was throw the ball. When Jordan Jefferson has a better sec stats than you...
Agree to disagree.

You’re right 14-7. Rushing doesn’t count it’s a TD-INT comp. Nuss also had a rushing TD.

I also think he had a decent pass protection in 24 too. Run blocking and run game was non existent tho. It would've been nice to see what he could've done with a run game.

But we couldn’t run the ball, we had to throw it. He basically did everything. JJ’s best year was 2100 yards and 17TDs. His yards per attempt and passer rating were lower than Nuss. Not sure how that’s better?

That’s a trash excuse.

Dude was garbage. Straight garbage.

Then quit on the team.

He sucks and won’t make a roster.

He was hit and pressured constantly he just didn’t take sacks. Probably should’ve, it would’ve cut down some of the picks. Agree with your Campbell take, he was great. Another interesting stat is our run success rate behind Campbell being very high, we just chose not to run behind him much. All symptoms of a bigger problem that’s gone now thankfully.

I mean I don’t get why you are arguing a red herring.

The only person who brought up Flynn was you and no one says that 2007 is one of the best qb seasons at LSU.
