How unlucky is Nick Brossette? How lucky is CEH?

He doesn’t redshirt and barely plays his freshman year. When he gets his shot in 2018, he has a solid year with numbers almost indistinguishable on a per carry basis from CEH, and better absolute numbers.
In 2019, CEH has the benefit of being the only experienced running back on an all-time great college offense, and gets to pile up amazing stats and parlays it into being a first round selection for one of the greatest NFL offenses all time.
Now let’s say Nick Brossette redshirts in 2015 and comes back as a 5th year senior in 2019. He likely has as big, if not bigger role than CEH this year. He almost surely gets drafted in the 4th round or higher instead of being an UDFA and CEH doesn’t go nearly as high. If the 4 game rule was around in 2015, he redshirts for sure.
Just a thought

No. Just no. Different players

Nick was a decent back but he had his limitations..

Helaire just needed an offense to suit his skill set
He beat rummel in state title game by himself
Brosette was a typical miles style runner

CEH is substantially more talented than Brossette.

The thing that I really like about CEH is he can catch the football, and after doing so, he knows how to make people miss.
I’m not sure Brosette can do that.

CEH is a first round pick who led us to a NC
NB was a free agent who is no longer in the NFL
Thank God Joe Brady wasn’t an idiot and recognized what CEH brought to the table

The only play that readily comes to mind of Brosette's career is the first play of the Troy game where he got hit at the line of scrimmage and fumbled the ball away. Troy scored moments later. If that turnover doesn't happen, neither does the most embarrassing loss for LSU since 2011. You know what CEH never did? Fumble.

I disagree with this take. LSU was able to do a lot of great things because of CEH's skill set, not the other way around. Brossette would not have had the same numbers even with this offense.

No one can actually believe that

It's over and done with. Cant do anything about the past bro, but he can change the future for him and for you so he can make u say happy thoughts since you are concerned for him

Clyde is infinitely better than Brosette at breaking tackles in the open field. Can’t remember Brosette breaking a tackle. Seemed like Clyde broke one almost every play.
Nothing against Brosette, he was a solid RB for what he is.

Kevin Faulk interview with Jacques doucet basically said they knew CEH was better last year but they played nick cause he was a SR

Clyde does not need much space to make people miss.
Clyde was a perfect fit for this offense and he knew his role. He will make a smooth transition into the pros.

My curiosity is what is it that you seem to have against CEH? This isn’t your first negative post against him. How any LSU fan can have any negative feeling or thought towards him after this season is beyond me.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a very long time.

Show me where CEH had ball security problems like Brossette. Yea he doesn’t. Brossette fumble vs Troy was like Sanchez’s butt fumble.
Show me where CEH had few yards after contact. Brossette never ran physical through tackles. Edwards-Helaire broke 70 tackles on just 214 carries this season while gaining 782 of his 1,419 yards after contact,” Cam Mellor of PFF wrote. “He added incredible value for a running back by limiting himself to just one fumble and by hauling in 55 receptions for another 453 yards and one touchdown. He led the country with 25 first-down receptions out of the backfield and had the nation’s seventh-most broken tackles after the catch.
This might be the dumbest thread of the COVID offseason.
