Great point. Why don’t we just do that for every position?

Is that rhetorical or you really don't know why QB is different than other positions?

If there were any logic to this everyone would do it. Most of those QBs have been where they are now for 2-3 years and developed there. Do people really believe transfer QB = automatic star? I’d love to see the number of transfers who don’t see a snap but nobody’s going to push that narrative.

Because of FSU this year, Ole Miss in 22 and what is about to happen to them next year. You can’t live off the portal. You supplement with it.

It’s a small sample size no? What’s the data since NIL on all QB transfers? Is it a one off year or is this a high success% thing?

It’s 7 of the top 10 teams in the country aka some of the only teams that have a chance to win the national championship. It’s not a small sample size if your goal is to win a championship

QB is the most important position in sports, have the smallest position room on the team, and you can have only play 1 at a time. If you can’t see the difference in that position and the rest, then…oof.

Is this a case of QBs who were on decent teams funneling to better opportunities? Did it happen because of recruiting misses at these schools? Will it continue if upper level schools hit on recruits in the next cycle? How do we measure its sustainability is what I’m getting at.

Yeah it was sarcasm. We have an offensive coordinator that was promoted solely because he was a good quarterback developer and he had the #1 quarterback in the country committed. Now the #1 quarterback isn’t coming here and our solution is to get quarterbacks that are developed elsewhere. Great OC hire for BK.

Ole Miss got 20+ people through the transfer portal. Seem to be having success with the strategy.

We've been able to make this thread every year. Even before the portal

Who are we liking elsewhere Les?
I was impressed with the James Madison guy after they boat raced UNC but haven’t followed up.

And what year is the right one to do it? It’s worked for us with multi year guys so do you pass on the guy with 1 year of eligibility left? You’re suggesting this as a strategy and using a very small or unknown sample size so what are traits of the hits vs the misses. We have zero examples of the downside here, you’re not suggesting it’s a 100% success rate are you?
