I have nothing really to add other than to say that the CWS 2023 was the embodiment of why sports are so great. Probably the most exhilarating sports experience I’ve witnessed. 2019 was absolutely incredible, but I never felt like that team had a real chance to lose. After the first loss to Wake I was almost resigned to the idea that it was going to be a “what could have been” CWS. Absolute roller coaster ride with multiple legendary moments, and players.

The only negative thing about that game is that it wasn’t the championship game. Those were the two best teams in college baseball playing their best game of the season. It deserved Championship Game status (and would be even more fondly remembered if it was).

Still, it was the best baseball game many of us ever saw. Massive “thank you” to both teams.
