Yes. I like the positives it might bring:
1. more $$$
2. more people
3. more spirited people willing to get loud

But, what makes me think it's a bad idea is a pretty big one -- you'll have more drunktards in every section. And I don't mean the kind that show up drunk from their tailgate and then fade into sleepy drunken stupor as the game goes on. I'm talking about the kind you see at pro games -- Mr Angry Drunk who always has a beer he's gulping and who makes things absolutely miserable for everyone around.

We have enough of those sprinkled in some sections already -- and yes, I like to bring my kids and yes I expect to not hear a shower of F-bombs and C***suckers! directed at the field.

I have mixed feelings on this one.

If they sold beer, I'd have 1 or 2. But, I'm Mr. Happy Buzz!

how many night games are now in Tiger Stadium? I bet there has been more 2:30 starts causing the empty seat issue.

It's taken me an hour to get from Lobdell to the exit at Nicholson/Highland at rush hour on Fridays and that's just a few miles.

The problem with the bridge is that the eastbound bridge traffic merges with I-110 South and feeds into one lane to get to I-10 towards NOLA.

I was at the LSU/West Virginia game and witnessed only a glimpse of what beer sales can do.
I would say that WVU fans are never going to be a good barometer of other fans behavior. Drunken hillbillies with limited chance for social interaction.

Drunken florida/bama/auburn fans mixed with drunken LSU fans could spell trouble, though.

I've got it! Only sell alcohol for home non-conf games.

I had a kid's game to go to by the Gov's Mansion, and I left there just before 1pm. I never get to campus this late for a 'big game' so I was worried.

Got off hwy and found a parking near the North Gates within 30 minutes. Had time to have lunch before walking to our seats.

No need to wonder how to fix gameday in Tiger stadium; just check out the New Orleans Saints who have in my opinion have perfected the contemporary football experience
1) sell beer and other libations at the stadium
2) sell quality food at the stadium
3) ample parking at reasonable prices
4) limited corporate sponsors
5) air conditioned stadium
6) adult crowd supporting the team to the last second of the game regardless of the score
7) great coach
8) greater quarterback

LSU only has to make a few adjustments and we can regain the fire in the belly; but if things continue as is well then caveat emptor.

Sadly. This seems to be the case for a shite ton of people. It's fricking pathetic.

I don't drink on a daily basis, matter of fact I don't have beer in my fridge or a liquor cabinet.
However there's a few things I enjoy doing that involves cold beer.
LSU football happens to be One of them.....So stfu.
Nothing pathetic about it... If it would enhance someone's game/stadium experience why possibly would you care?

The biggest issue with the beer is the liability of all the underage students being served. Maybe not permit it in the student section but everywhere else?

And if you thought concession lines were long, imagine the beer line when they have to i.d. everyone...and the outrage when LSU runs out of beer in the tap!

Yes. Seems like a logistical nightmare for a lot of reasons. If the concessions ran out of water this past Saturday, do you think they really could keep up with beer sales?

And ID'ing everyone would be inefficient, to say the least...

And like I have said in a few other threads, if people just absolutely have to have beer to have fun and can't go without it for 3-4 hours, then it sounds like an AA meeting is in order.

Running out of beer would not be a bad thing. In fact, it might even be a planned thing.

Running out of water is inexcusable.

1) sell beer in TS NO!

2) make it easier to get on campus Agreed, provided that there is still adequate parking available. Campus should not be shut down until there are no spots left.

3) stop charging an arm and leg for on campus parking. Whille there are plenty of people who can afford it, the theatrics of blockading main thoroughfares makes it impossible to get close and park. Not to mention half the free parking is covered by a construction zone (see 2). Many, many people didn't come Saturday because they simply couldn't get to campus. Sorry to the po folks, but this is how it works. If I had the foresight to buy a one game parking pass for $40, I would have. I ended up paying $40 to park next to Louie's anyway.

4) get rid of the bullshite corporate logos everywhere, and use the Screen you spent the ticket holders money on. Agreed. I'm ot opposed to the sponsorships, but the placements don;t need to be so in your face (and I know that's what they are paying for, but still...)

5) use electronic tickets to make it easier for fans to sell last minute This exists already. Learn to use it.

6) do something about scalpers that hoard tickets and then try and dump them for crazy prices How do you propose this? And do you really think that scalpers own tickets in massive blocks? People sell their tickets to scalpers, brokers, or on StubHub. As long as LSU is successful, tickets will sell for a premium. All LSU cares abotu is selling those tickets. What people choose to do with them (i.e. sell them to a scalper) is completely out of LSU's control.

7) get night games. Who cares about TV deals, make it happen You clearly have on clue how the SEC works

8) do something better during commercial breaks Agreed, like letting TGBFTL actually play music instead of piping in stereotypical crap by AC/DC or Metallica

9) stop trying to control a student section... That will never work until you stop letting students go to games Agreed to an extent. The moment the student section starts giving LSU a bad reputation on national TV, that needs to be curbed. I do think the best way to do this is to take away 1/3 of all student tickets. The huge blocks of empty seats in the student section prove that the value of goign to LSU football games is not the same as it used to be to students. Take those tickets away and the only ones who will go are the ones who really want to go rather than the socially casual fan.

10) blackout the game... Again, you clearly have no clue how the SEC works.
