Just wondering what LSU has to do different from previous years to finally beat this team. Obviously score more points but can our offense really put up more points against that defense... the blueprint to beat LSU would have to be make Etling beat you with his arm which I just don’t see happening barring a career defying game by Danny

Force Alabama to respect the run and pass. Making them fear the fly sweep on every play is a good start.

Get all media to announce a game time change by two hours. Should be able to be up by three touchdowns before they get to the stadium.

I'm going to try this one. First, it has to start in the trenches. Our linemen must stick to their fundamentals-get leverage, Fire off the count-keep their feet moving-and just get mean!! Let those imposing Bama linemen know you are there for the next 3 hours so deal with it. Also, use plenty of motion-and really focus on great deception-that has to happen. That should freeze their linebackers and safeties. Get the running backs in the passing game in the flats. But....we still have to pound it inside some. The tight ends can have a big night posting about 8-10 yards especially with faking the jet sweep. On defense, keep someone in the middle to spy the QB-at all times. Since we play man pass defense-focus on hitting the receivers within 5 yards to disrupt their patterns. TACKLING is important-those backs get a lot of yards breaking tackles. IF...and I mean IF the Tigers make it to the 4th quarter and the game is close- I mean one of those games where the team with the ball last may win-we need to try and figure out some formation to make Saban use one of those time-outs he loves to hold on to. There have been two games when the Tigers could have won but Saban used his time-outs stopping the clock and of course, the offense couldn't get that critical first down thus punting the ball away and well...they managed to come back and score. If he would have had only 2 time-outs-would have been a big difference!!

From what I understand and to be fair, I didn’t support Ed Orgeron so take it for what it’s worth, you need to score more points than them. Could be wrong though. Let me know.

Replace the run game with short dump offs while Guice and Williams are on the field at the same time. I think CEH is good enough to relieve either back for a limited time so they can rest

Ehhhh lets not throw next year’s starter out on the field against Bama.. if he had more playing time up till this point, then yeah.

LSU has turned this season around. Enjoy the success and continue to support this young team as they grow. But do not talk yourselves into thinking we will beat Bama on the road. They are a 24 point favorite for a reason. While LSU has improved in many areas and has shown tremendous heart....the run defense is still porous. This is a bad match up at this point. Play hard, keep it close and see what happens.

My thought is to move the linebackers a step or two closer to the line and create “seven in the box.” Do whatever has to be done to slow the Alabama rush game. If this works it channels the Alabama effort into passing and into our defensive strength—the defensive backfield. I think LSU will score some points, not a lot but it might be enough.

Make Bama defend the jet sweep, fake H/O to RB and throw to other RB/TE in the flat, WR screen, shuttle pass, etc....and RUN Guice, RUN! OL will be the key - pass protection and a crease for Guice. Ball control, eat up the clock and win the field position battle. Flip the script on them.

On D, simple, stop the run and get off the field on 3d down. Man-to-man in the secondary, and stop the run!

I think we can all agree that you don't beat them by attacking their strengths.

One thing Canada does is set up future plays with other plays. Give them one look a few times and run the same play. Get them to commit early, then go misdirection.

The tight ends and backs HAVE to be involved in the passing game. One thing that Saban's defense has always been susceptible to is a late release from a back right up the middle, especially in a situation where he's expecting them to stay back for pass protection.

We have backs who can catch the ball. They need to chip the ends, then release. Even if he brings pressure, it's an easy throw. Just a lob over the line and the middle is wide open. Saban counts on OCs not wanting to risk a negative play and his guys getting to the QB before he can get the ball out.

Also, make them defend the whole field. Jet sweeps, deep balls, crossing routes, skinny posts - use 'em all.

After watching the Ole Miss game, I'm a little more worried about the defense. Ole Miss gashed us right up the middle on more than one occasion. I do believe that is set up by the fact that Ole Miss is an extremely pass happy team.

Bama is far more balanced, but our DL is going to be in for a long, rough day. Those guys have to keep Bama's OL occupied. If they consistently get to the second level, LSU is in trouble.

The off-week will definitely benefit us, but Bama's getting a rest as well.

I've been predicting a win for LSU this season since the spring, and I'm not backing down now.

I just have a feeling.

Defense has to stack the box and force Hurts to throw. We have an excellent secondary, we should be able to do this.

Offense will need to open up the passing game. We have to throw quick passes to WRs to negate Bama's pass rush. Bama will play man so quick dump offs to RBs and TEs won't be very effective. We HAVE to get our WRs involved in the passing game to set up the run. It all starts with pass protection. I hope we do some serious work on the offensive line as far as pass blocking goes.

1) Zero turnovers, create at least 2 Bama turnovers

2) Use as many D linemen as possible to stay fresh, contain the Bama QBs when they leave the pocket

3) Limit big plays by Bama offense

4) Control time of possession by running the ball and converting 3rd downs

5) Special teams must be perfect - no missed field goals or PATs, no big plays for Bama return game

6) Pass successfully enough to not allow them to stack the box on D

That's a tall set of tasks - but all of these must be accomplished to win

Alexander has to play quality minutes otherwise #99 will need several blades for his ice skates

Any idea about Alexander's injury? Guy has a ton of potential, hope he is ready to play and make an impact by moving their OL back and/or eating up multiple blockers to keep D. White and Co. clean to bring the wood.
