BS! When Orgeron was fired, mid season, we had a full roster. That was on Woody and his handling of the transition.
Then Kelly fired all but one of the staff. Then he rehired half of them because his replacements were inept.
If Kelly had done a better evaluation, and kept more O Coaches, the players would probably have remained at LSU.

Hugh Freeze would wreck shop here

Kelly has a very tough job in the era of NIL I don’t envy him. Saying that 10 million a year you kinda got to produce at a high level. That is the expectation whether fair or not. Same goes for the players, your not just college athletes any more , you are paid good money to produce, think about all the previous college players who gave it every thing they had to represent their schools and did not have the fortune of playing in the NIL era. Imo

PREACH ON BROTHA!!!! I've been saying this exact thing...They dont want to admit the ONLY reason recruiting is up is because BK brought back some of Coach O's assistant coaches and THEY are doing the heavy lifting in recruiting.....by letting them walk or not retaining them when he was hired set us back even further!!!!!

He will not win a championship at LSU.
Let's have this question answered in the next 2-3 years...

Better to win 8/9 games a year and not risk the potential of a 3 or 4 win season
That logic does NOT check out..... Les Miles enters the chat...or did you forget about him the perrenial 10+ win a year former coach

Give me CBK any day. Is this team perfect? Heck no…far from it. But they are improving each week. Give them a chance and quit with the negative bias towards CBK.
I agree with your assessment. Kelly was a good hire at the time. Good hires don’t always work out though. The jury is still out. This year will help clear a lot of things up. He needs to do a better job in the portal. We really swung and missed badly on defense this past year.

The problem was the list, and the contract it took to get someone like Kelly.

Well how many teams in the top 10 had TWO WR's drafted in the 1st round. JD had help winning that Heisman. Been on this train. When Nuss threw for +300 in a half against UGA, he had Nabers and BTJ on the field. Kinda makes a difference.

Lane Kiffin would have been a better choice than Kelly, he has Ole Miss ranked in the top ten and is a better team than LSU. Also, you forgot to list Lincoln Riley who beat LSU this year.

This is correct. Previous coaches had a greater incentive to win a championship. Kelly’s money is in the bank.

How about accepting being in the top 15 year in year out, I can remember times we weren't .

Lincoln Riley refused LSU

uh.. the answer is definitely yes. Just look at recruiting. Some of ya'll are braindead.

Recruiting success does not always equal championships. Look at A&M and countless others who went class chasing. You can have all the talent in the country, but if you don't develop the players and the right culture, all you have is a bunch of nice chess pieces.
I would think LSU fans know this after the many 5* who rolled through LSU in the last 15 years that underperformed.
ETA: also none of the players for '25 have signed yet. Way too early to spike the ball.

I only see 2 out of 15 that are not better than Kelly , stoops and venables.
