Absolutely worth consideration. "family" my arse..... Easier route to the playoffs, without the Birmingham drama? LSU would be stupid to not consider it. Question from a financial standpoint though- does big 12 membership yield the some income from the network that the SEC brings?

I don't know why everyone always down votes these threads. Hell I'd leave in a second. We would dominate the Big 12 and have a clear path to the playoffs yearly. We're a damn whipping child in the SEC for some reason.

Except the big 12 just voted against expansion. So, there's that
Yea, hence "purely hypothetical."

Get it together. Act like grownups and hash it out. It's not in the long term interests of LSU athletics to leave the SEC despite Tiger fans non-stop "everyone hates us" hissy fits.
I was wondering how far the animosity towards the SEC would willingly be pushed. There definitely seems to be a limit.

Unfortunately, the Big 12 would be the only real option for LSU.

I don't think anyone considers themselves tx's bitch these days...

Heck no. That would be a huge step down. We are in the best conference.
Sankey is an idiot. LSU will outlast him. Why leave?

So basically you want to trade Bama for UT? No thanks.

No need to even think about it. Downvote

I'm more open to bringing Curley back

If LSU left the SEC, it would basically become what Texas A&M was when they were in the Big 12.
We would lose all that SEC Network money.
We would lose all that revenue sharing from the bowl games.
We would lose all those recruits that want to compete in the premier league in the game.
Is that what you want?

The Big 12 is done. Once their television contract expires they will be like rats abandoning a sinking ship. Texas, OU, and Oklahoma State would be highly sought after. The rest will go to the American Conference.

I would seriously consider dropping season tickets if we were not in the SEC
I'm an LSU fan - I'm not loyal to the SEC. while I think we should remain in the SEC, I do think it would help to "leverage" our interests by entertaining offers from other conferences. I believe LSU gets very little respect from the SEC brass, and brings more to the table that the SEC simply takes for granted...
