My God, if I can learn Greek history in a two week intersession course, this cat can learn a playbook in 3 months.

The proof is when LSU gets good QB play from a guy that was recruited from HS to play at LSU.

Etling passed for over 3300 yards, 16 TD's & 2 INT's.

Etling

In a shitty system (Canada).

LSU has had success with QB transfers, as well. I don't care how they get here, just get em here.

WTF are you talking about? Who cares if he is recruited from high school or a transfer or a juco or whatever. However LSU can get good QB's is fine with me and should be for any fan.

Let me get this straight...

You've just started a thread complaining about CEO shoring up the most critical position on the offense that has been under the most scrutiny on this board for years with a very good looking player from a very well run program with a very competent offense.

The guy is physically ready for the SEC, has already transitioned from HS to College speed of play and bringing him in essentially will make everything a shitshow.

Did I miss anything?

Do we actually have an offense at this moment, that any QB could try to pickup if he were on campus today? I get the feeling that even when the season starts, we’ll still be “installing”. So what difference does it make? If this guy has the tools, he might as well play.

Worked out well for Russell Wilson at Wisconsin.

This is retarded. Guys do this all the time. It's not like Ensminger's offense will be weird (like Canada's). I suspect a lot of the concepts will be the same as what OSU runs.

Problem is, the whole offense isnt installed yet...so theres that to spend time on with the current team...not the same as a well oiled system in place for years

True, I remember Russell Wilson struggling mightily when he was leading Wisconsin to the Rose Bowl after 4 years at NC State.

Putting in Burrow as starting QB is kicking the can down the road.

Wtf? So hypothetically playing the better QB to make your team the best they can be for the next two years or so is kicking the can down the road? Players cycle out of college football in 3-4 years so this statement is asinine.

It amazes me how some of you think, learning a play book, takes a full year or longer. Wanna know how I know you've never played?

Not at LSU they don’t. That’s why we’re in the situation we’ve been in for a decade.

The current qbs picked this offense up in 15 practices.

They did? Why are we trying to bring in another guy then?

These guys have been playing the game since they were 8/9 years old. Not an issue for the players; just the coaches. They are scared to death of public opinion. It worked out at Georgia last year.

Me? FS

Never qb at D1 level. But it's very very hard to.learn everything in ONE fall camp...especially when splitting major snaps.

snaps are for rhythm. They learn the play book by film and studying. If he comes he will be here this month. It's not that damn hard. When hear, "Doesn't know playbook", means coaches are fn scared to call the play manly bc it's high risk and player doesn't have ability to execute it.

Graduate transfers really became a thing with Russell Wilson. However, there aren't many of those out there that can pick up an offense the way he did in a short amount of time. While there have been a handful of successes, the vast majority have not. It's such a difficult thing to do unless you are coming to an offense very similar to your previous one or you are able to go through spring with your new team.

No they aren't stupid. They are to give a qb timing and seasoning on reading defenses and using audibles.
