Sure this has been discussed in part on here in the post-op to the bowl game. Sorry if Germans.

But what would a realistic score have been if Mett was playing rather than a true freshman QB? I think it has to be about a 14 to 21 point positive swing at least. Mett doesn't throw that pick six (although he would have had more opportunities for picks because he would be throwing it more often) and OBJ and Landry both probably have 100 yard days. At least we got a win and I am looking forward to seeing what AJ can do next year after spring practice and summer workouts with the first team.

Mett would have lit them up pretty good. Especially with all the extra time to prepare. With the defense playing like they did Les would have gotten conservative so I think we would have won 28-7

If Mett would have played I would say 42-0.

probably 35-7

We became so one dimensional and it hurt us during the middle of the game.

Rivers looked pretty close talent wise to Mett in the Spring. Why wouldn't he get a shot?

If Mett had played, fewer touches for Hill, so no 200+ yards, 2 TD performance probably.

It may have been a wash.

With the piss-poor pass protection from the offensive line and Mettenberger's lack of mobility I'm seriously suspecting that his impact would have been a lot less noticeable than we might be inclined to think. We still win and he still improves the team, but not by a lot with the blocking he'd have gotten.

In an interview with the players after the game, they said they would put up at least 50 with Mett.

That pass protection would've been more effective with Mett in the pocket. Simplified play-calling designed for a first time starter and Jennings running backwards when there was pressure did not help.

Jennings held the ball way too long

It wasn't all on the OL. They are only expected to hold their blocks for so long.
