Iowa Hawkeyes set the bar exceedingly low
Can imagine LSU paying a bonus for "achieving" 8 wins? I believe is you set a low threshold for reward, you should expect low results.
I think Ferentz is a fine coach, and overall had a good year this year with a nice bowl win but Coach O's results since taking over needs to exceed what Ferentz is making by at least a million, and knowing Iowa, they'll go give Ferentz a $1.5 million a year raise now that he hit 10 wins for the year and finished tied for 3rd place in the Big 10 West.

Coach O deserves the same "pool" of money that is available to the average of the top 5 paid coaching staffs in the country.
How he divvies it up is his business; however, LSU should have a say in order for him to be able to attempt to attract top talent.

I think he should be upped to 6 mil a year with incentives for winning championships

I'd say O deserves whatever Kirby is getting, especially if he wins the title.
Kirby has more SEC Championship appearances, but that's coming from the East. O has an overall comparable record, same number of SEC titles, is 2-0 head to head (and decisively), and has a W vs Alabama (Kirby is 0-2).

5.5 max. He’s a great coach, but also doesn’t “run” a portion of the game like many other HC. We pay a premium to get the best. And it’s working well. So we should change anything.
