Win or lose, he deserves a raise. LSU will need to pay him Saban and Harbaugh type money. He deserves it.

I thought his deal was not to pay him a lot of money but spend the money on the coordinators? So are you saying everyone is getting more money or just O?

He deserves $1 more than anybody else is willing to pay him. Anything more would be stupid of LSU to do, and unnecessary. You pay him whatever it takes to stay at LSU, whether that be a 500k raise, or a 5 mil dollar raise.

Yep.

Give him a giant bonus for hardware, but otherwise stick with the model.

Dude he is not Saban yet. Hopefully one day we can pay him a ridiculous amount of money for creating a dynasty and us winning multiple Championships but that day is not today. We owe him whatever the contract says we owe him.

Yes winning the natty has an incentive I'm sure. Otherwise we stick with our model. I'm pretty sure lsu paid O, slinger, aranda, and brady combined pretty close to what aggy paid for just jimbo. You tell me what was the smarter investment

How much money does coach Orgeron deserve? Win the next game, what records are they after? Win the next game. It's the Natty. Any new questions that not concerned bout anything than this game?? I will give u a hint. Win the Natty.

That deal was in place to make hiring him cost neutral. After the NC, LSU will have to pay him more.

Orgeron definitely needs top flight coordinators to manage the coaching to make it work. Just look at Brady

This.

Dangerous territory. We should be celebrating for sure, but this will not look good if we abandon the supposed model since it is working now.

LSU has a pool of money for football and has pays his asst coaches so he can keep his job; which is smart. One more year of 11 wins, then pay the man

Whatever money you think O “deserves” give it to Brady. He’s the real difference maker this year. Same QB, same WR, same OC much difference results on offense this year due to Brady.

He's at $4MM p/yr now - you're saying he should jump to $7.5MM+...even if he loses the NC game?

Come on...

He should probably get a nice bump after the season to about $5MM if he loses and a little over $6MM if he wins, which would put him in the top-10. There's no way you pay him Saban or Harbaugh money...and you left Dabo out, and that little fricker is at $9.3MM.

I also truly think O wouldn't leave at this point - this is his dream job and the program is humming right now. No school is gonna offer so much that it would be off the table for LSU to counter.

O will get his, don't worry. If he wins this one, then another in the next 3-5 years, then we can talk about Saban/Dabo money.

Saban has 5 championships.

O deserves good money, but Dabo one championship money

6.5 mill

And I might be completely wrong here, but something tells me that O would rather have money go to keep/get great coordinators, as opposed to him get a gaudy raise.

The guy seems to have really done some self reflection and realized what was truly important to him, and it doesn't seem like money is it.

I think one of the best things that could've happened to O was Burrow...and the relationship he forges with his family. I think O gets more out of being a leader and mentor for these young men than he ever would out of a larger bank account. Therefore, if it means he has to give up a little in order to have an amazing staff, that lets him keep his current gig for an extended period of time, then I think Ed is more than fine with that.

I think he deserves and maybe even expects something. Maybe 5-6 million but something.

Wrong.

Aranda got a raise when O was hired, then got an even bigger raise 1.5 years later, because he is the most important Coordinator in the country because O can't stand on his own, and everyone knew it. Otherwise, you would tell Aranda to go pound sand.

This is the model we've chosen and it works, as soon as Ed O starts to be "the man," diminishing our ability to go get top coordinators (which WE set the new bar on), we'll start to see problems.
