How much job security has O built up so far?

In the event Coach O loses to Bama, how much job security does he retain? If LSU loses, Bama will likely win out and be a lock into the CFP. With Florida losing to Georgia, & Auburn barely beating Ole Miss and losing to Florida, and Texas being much worse than anticipated, our top wins seem much less impressive.
With that, it would be a miracle for LSU to slide into the CFP if they win out and would likely be settling for another empty bowl game. If that happens, it will be considered a disappointment to all fans considering the potential this team has established.
The Bama game is clearly the most important of the season. How quickly does the administration start looking for another option if O loses? In my opinion, his success in recruiting has given him at least 2 more years whether we make it to the playoffs or not.

11-1 and a loss to Bama would be a tremendous season. Chance at getting in the playoff and unchartered territory for an LSU team in a long time.
The goal has to be to win the West, which is as hard now as it’s ever been or will be considering you have to go undefeated, but Coach O isn’t going anywhere regardless.

Yes it would. For this year.
Coaches don’t stick around if they can’t beat their rival. Lose 2-3 more in a row and next man up.

The guy hates O, it’s not surprising. Pretty sure he’s been banned at least once for it.

This isn’t a bash thread?
You mean where you’re insinuating that O should lose job stability for losing to Alabama, one of the biggest dynasties ever that’s still chugging along?
Ok.

None till he wins the west

Get real. Coach O belongs at LSU.

I swear the Tiger Rant has some asinine threads every now and then due to the nature of our fanbase.... but LSU/BAMA week it is on a whole other level.
Coach O has done an incredible job and got thrown into this position without a lot of prep time and has exceeded all expectations. And its not like any other loss to a rival, this is the best team to play the game for the majority of the past decade and with an extra week to prepare each year.
Give the man some slack.

Just came to downvote stupid title. Wish you people could just enjoy the good times and quit being a debbie downer....

Yes.
You can talk about people having it out for him all you want and there are those people.
But winning is ALL that matters. If he can’t beat Bama he can’t win the west or the SEC and he needs to go.
It’s a fact of the new way of the world. Nothing matters but winning. Nothing.
I don’t want it this way but it’s the way it is.

Not sure. Still waiting for rickydaddy to chime in. Hasn't been man enough to come and admit he was wrong about O those first two years he bashed him all the time. I can assure you if this was a Miles coached team he would be in every thread going crazy.

If losing to bama this year puts O on the hot seat, I’m done with big time college football
In a perfect world, even if your talent is on par with bama’s (LSU’s IS), and everything is perfectly even, you’re only going to beat them 50% of the time, so I don’t think it would be fair to put o on the hot seat for a loss to bama, all things considered

Coach Eaux has exposed the OP as a total idiot. Can't really blame the moron for trying to take under-handed shots at the undefeated LSU coach. It is funny that he tries to say he isn't trying to take a shot, like we are as big of idiots as he is.

First two years???
This is a post he made last Sunday:

Based on what?
Any successful coordinator had a better resume than O before his tenure at lsu.
Are you really saying a career dline coach was the best LSU could do?

He was so worked up and bent out of shape it wasn't even clear if he was talking about LSU. 3 or 4 losses???

Miles wasnt fired so that we could keep losing 3 and 4 games a year except now we pass the ball more during those 3/4 losses.

The guy is outside his mind. Kind of like the POS OP who is seeking revenge against Eaux.

It’ll be interesting to see how next season goes without a top 5 qb
