I was raised in the Louisiana swamps. We trapped, hunted & sold alligator hides, & lived off the land. I went to LSU, had Family play at Lsu but have lived in north AL. for 35 years. As much as they have tried to change me it will never happen.

If we loose anybody, most on this board would hope it is JJ.

Frankly, if LSU had finished in the mid-80's nationally in offense last year

I know you recently hired a new coordinator, so there should be some hiccups in your offense when you move to a new scheme.

I think we will be improved. We wont be blowing people out. the scheme isnt going to be new. Krags is simplifying the offense and working strictly with the qbs.

You oregon fans should know why we had failure on offense, i mean yall went throuh the same shite with crowton.

We lose barksdale on the oline, but we gained will blackwell who was hurt last year. Our oline will be better. Our running game will be better. And typically JJ plays better with time to prepare. If JJ plays a decent game, we are pretty much unbeatable.

Defense won't be as good as last year, IMO.

This is could be true, but i think our secondary will be better. But we have to stay healthy. You will noticed that we missed tayler those last 5 games or so.

I say the d has the ability to be better. Linebackers need to step up and DTs need to step up.

Ware and Ford are neck-and-neck when it comes to running ability. One offers more power while the other offers more speed.

which one offers the power and which one offers the speed? Ford is a weight room monster, but doesn't look like it on the field. Ware looks a little quicker and more agile. Neither looks like much of a speed merchant.

I am extremely skeptical of judging players based on blowout bowl games ... or really any bowl games to be honest.

Ware is going to be good, but we may move back to rb by committee. Blue, ford, and ware are going to play. Im more interested and seeing ford. Ive seen JJ and Ford run a perfect option that is very hard to stop.

all signs point to Jefferson having a breakout year in 2011 and when Jefferson rolls, the offense rolls.

watch the replay of the cotton bowl for a good indication of what the offense will look like in 2011.

Ware is more of the power guy and Ford the speed/ shifty one. but it's not straight thunder & lightning deal, Ware's got some wiggle and Ford isn't necessarily a burner.

Sorry we let you down, or lost any guys money. We really did think we would win that actually and I never even spoke with any other Duck who was not convinced we would not win that.

I hate auburn. But i didnt think yall had a chance. Dont make the same mistake this time or LSU will put a hurting on.

speed, maybe. But I don't see shifty. He looks weight room stiff.

Which has almost ZERO significance.

Bowl games are very unnatural. They may be showcase games, but they are often terrible indicators for the future.

Now, I'm not saying that Ware won't have a breakout year. I'm hoping Blue & Ford kickass, too. I firmly believe that we will have one of the best running games in the country next year.

Having said that, Doc's comments have merit. Remember, we did not start running the ball down their throats until their middle linebacker, Michael Hodges, got hurt in the first half. He was their leading tackler last year and they had no viable replacement. Von Miller is an edge rusher & sack master, not necessarily a run-stopper. Without Hodges stuffing up the middle, Miller was less effective, too.

Now that's all part of football, and I couldn't care less what happened to TAMU players to help us win. I'm just saying, that besides our superior talent & depth in most areas of the game, TAMU was never the same after Hodges went down.

Wasn't Ford clocked at 4.4 in the 40 recently, according to that Freak Athlete list on ESPN?

this. It's amazing how uninformed our fsn base can be at times.

86th in total
45th in scoring
27th in Rushing.

Our offense is going to be much better this fall. JJ showed a lot of improvement in the spring game sans two bad plays(int that would have been a sack, and scramble and trying to force a throw). Other than those 2, he had a real good day throwing the football.

The worst thing that could happen to LSU in this match up would be having this game turn into an Oregon offensive clinic.

While that's probably true - it is also unlikely. Our biggest risk is that our young guys get a little overwhelmed early - hopefully we benefited a good bit by Miles (how stupid is he again?) adroitly pushing for the Cotton bowl to give our guys a chance to play back-to-back games there.

A much more likely, but still pro-Oregon, outcome is that Oregon's offense clicks, LSU's doesn't, the defenses control the pace of the game and Oregon scores late to seal it 21-13.

Our defense is equivalent to the Auburn defense ya'll faced, and with more (albeit unproven) talent.

Lolwut

11-53 in scoring
42-9 in rushing
10-108 in passing
12-60 in total
LSU vastly out ranks the Auburn defense they faced in every category except Rushing, and would have been comparable in rushing if it wasn't for Cameron Newton
