How much have player price tags gone up since it became legal?

There's always been a bag man. We know that. But how inflated have player's price tags gotten in the NIL era?

For reference, it was reported that Scam Newton asked for $200K. Imagine what a transfer of his level would get now?

What do you think guy's like Pickett or Perk or Whit would be making in those days?

And do you think every last guy on the team was making something, or was it actually closer to what NIL intended to be, benefiting the stars that were responsible for jersey sales etc.?

250k was practically top dollar at one time not that long ago. Not many were paid over that.

Since it’s out in the open, price goes up.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), it’s not sustainable for years.

There will be an inflection point that tries to reset but fails.

There will be programs that are profitable that survive (and programs with big donors).

The rest will simply become farm programs for the top tier teams.

They need to make them sign long term deals. That’ll keep them from begging for more every year.
