Honestly I was in a bad mood last night

LSU baseball had nothing to do with it & didn’t change it

I love baseball but wins & losses do not dictate my personal life

If your satisfied with that win then good on you. They won because Ole Miss played like crap with errors and a ton of runners left on base. Not because they played a lot better than Ole Miss. The same way South Carolina did last Thursday. Those are usually one off’s for the weekend, then the talent and coaching takes over and you sent home with another series loss. This team is in the exact spot in progression as they were in February.

What would make the win satisfying?

Do we have to win by 5? 8?
Shutout?

so LSU had less errors and less men left on base but didn't play better than ole miss that did those things? sound logic.

Sometimes you need luck and we lucked out big time with their ace getting scratched. Otherwise you better believe we would’ve only scored 0-1 runs so I’ll still highly concerned about this team and don’t think they’ll be a postseason threat.

But still got a W and that’s all that matters

Im good with any win no matter the score. I’m happy for the players but you can’t be content with just wins where the opponent didn’t perform up to their standard play. That’s where we are at, they have to hope the other team is off for any chance to win in the SEC. We went through this with Miles in football. He won a lot of games but there were serious flaws with the program talent evaluation, player progression, roster management and just overall coaching. You are seeing the exact same thing here with Mainieri. I was blind to this for the past two years but it’s apparent he’s been asleep at the wheel for some time now.

for a guy who doesn't care about wins and losses, you sure do spend a lot of your personal time on the rant.

I will go ahead and get the "your wife has been going to bed happy quite often at my place lately" comment out of the way so we can continue forward.

They had 3 errors and LSU had 2. Yeah, I would say that’s not playing much better! They played worse and you still were white knuckling the 9th inning to escape with a win. How do you not see this as a problem. They had a chance to extend the lead and turn in a solid performance but they fricked it up with little league base running and poor situational coaching.

Happy for our players. Not much hope for the post season this year, but these experiences will make us better next year.

Now let's go out and take a series, maybe Coleman or Edwards can show you something on the mound and we get the bats going, who knows?

I've been fed up with the coaching, but I support these players, period.

There's some solace knowing that LSU baseball isn't getting off to its worst start in the Pawl Era. That was 4-14 in SEC play in 2011.

In today's day and age you'll probably get cancelled though.

LSU left 5 runners on base in the 8th and 9th innings alone. We had 1 more hit than they did and 2 errors to their 3. So we played better than they did last night, and your argument is we got lucky because we were better than them last night. Teams that win games typically play better than the losing team.

eh, there's an avenue. We have series left against A&M, Auburn, and Alabama. Auburn and A&M are really bad. Alabama isn't much better. Even if we lose the next two against Ole Miss, if we take 2/3 in those three series, that brings us to 11 SEC wins. We win one against Arkansas, we finish at 12-18 and likely a top 20-25 RPI. That definitely puts us in the dicsussion and on the bubble. If we can get to 13-17, we're likely in. It's not sure thing by any stretch, but it's not necessarily hopeless either. We have 5 SEC losses where we were right in the game at the end with a chance to win. If we can turn those close losses into close wins, there's no reason we can't make a run to get a bid in the NCAAT
