if LSU were to hypothetically play oregon in a bowl game they'd score around 24...fact

defense wins championships...we just need our offense to be better than below average

I get the LSU-Oregon connection here.

It would be phenomenal to see some of that offense with a defense.

Of course, you would then have to subject that offense to the rest of this conferences personnel and coordinators, week in and week out.

I think they're the class of the PAC-10, but if Stanford and Arizona are the big boys you're going to put up to challenge the top of the SEC, it just ain't happening.

stanford is pretty good this year. physical team, great coaching, and a stud QB

who in the SEC is amazing this year?

AU? no D
LSU? no O
Bama? 1-dimensional offense and a shaky secondary
Arky? shite D and no running game

the east is not good this year

One reason I started to get more and more excited about this season's propects after the UF game is that I have believed since the early weeks of the season that this is a down year in the SEC. it is the kind of year that could allow a good buy flawed team to go undefeated.

However, watching Oregon go for it on 4th and 6 on their side of the field on the opening drive of the game makes me wonder about Chip Kelly. I like them, but I don't like a lot of things about them. I much prefer a pro-style offense. These gimmicks usually are figured out.

Les has made his name on much bigger "gimmicks" than that.

60. We only average one score per quarter. Les Miles Big Ten football rocks!

Dude if you think Oregon could score 60 on the Tigers your sick. That hurry up shite might work a third of the time against our D. I guarantee we would have caused at least 4 turnovers when Oregon is jumping around and playing grass basketball.

We won't have to score more than 35 points against any team. Including Auburn this weekend. Bet

LSU over Tenn 16-14

LSU over Florida 33-29

Guess each match up plays out differently. By your definition clearly LSU should have lost to Florida right? Guess you will have to come up with something else.

It would probably take LSU 2 games + the first quarter of a third to get to 60, especially with Mile's idiotic QB rotation.

That said, watching the Ducks lst night, I couldn't help but think that they look an awful lot like WVU, just maybe a little faster.

I think if things played out right and we met for the NC, our D would dismantle their offense, especially with a month to prep.

On the flipside, they could play 8 guys on defense and I don't know if we could score more that 10 points on offense against them...unless our QB rotation changed.

they run a similar offense to WV, but more running-based and with faster players

UO has a big edge at the QB position

True, but do you disagree that with a month to prep LSU would shut them down.

I really think theat if UO and LSU played, and LSU didn't give them a short fieldd to work with, they would be hard pressed to score 3 TDs against the tiger D.

Also, I still think that may be enough for them to win.

By "gimmick" do you mean a borderline understanding of creating mismatches in the secondary and LB core?

By "gimmick" do you mean not trying to force an offense that is ineffective and not suited for one's personnel?

By "gimmick" do you mean creating an offensive scheme tailored around getting the ball to skill players instead of forcing plays for the sake of running them?

If so, I wish we had an offensive coordinator who knew how to run a "gimmick" offense.
