For frick’s sake. If this isn’t the understatement of the year.

1. Matt Canada: not interviewed or fully vetted prior to hire. Let go after one year and given a seven-figure buyout.

2. Jerry Sullivan: personal friend hire. Was still running primarily 1 and 2 route concepts in 2018

3. James Cregg: personal friend hire. No offensive line development. Worse recruiting. But for getting caught cheating and being forced out, he’d still be here.

4. Bo Pelini: buddy hire because of ties with Pete Carroll. No interview performed. Paid $5 million to leave.

5. Scott Linehan: buddy hire. No interview performed. Apparently was relegated to an analyst role because he didn’t mesh well with Ensminger. Paid seven figures to leave.

Name another CFB program where the head coach doesn’t interview his coordinators before hiring them.

Not comparing Coach O to Saban, but Saban looses coaches every off season.

lol...have you ever seen Bama's turnover year-to-year?

That's because of resounding success. Not because they were abysmal or committed violations or butted heads.

You usually have much better takes than this. Coaches leaving because of success is great. That's not why Canada, Pelini, Linehan, now Cregg, etc. are leaving LSU.

Lok at what you posted:
quote:

Steve Sarkisian, former offensive coordinator of the Crimson Tide, accepted a position as head football coach of Texas. He was replaced by Bill O'Brien. Charles Huff, former Associate Head Coach/Running backs coach accepted the head coaching position at Marshall and was replaced by Todd Watson as Associate Head Coach and Robert Gillespie as Running backs coach. Former Special teams coordinator/Tight end coach Jeff Banks left to accept a position as the Assistant Coach/Special teams coordinator/Tight end coach for Texas and was replaced by Jay Graham. Former Cornerbacks coach Karl Scott left and went to fill a position as a Defensive backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings and has been replaced by Jay Valai. Former Offensive line coach Kyle Flood left to be the Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach for Texas and was replaced by Doug Marrone. On March 24, 2021, Jay Graham left the program after only two months of being with the Tide and was replaced by Drew Svoboda.

All these guys left for better opportunities. That's not what's happening at LSU for the most part. Outside of Brady (great O hire) and Aranda (Les hire) of course.

CEO apparently missed out on hiring the OP.... because the OP is clearly well qualified.

You didn’t answer my question. Name a single other college head football coach who hires coordinators without interviewing them.

Mind you, this is after O promised to only hire “the best coordinators in the country” when he was given the job.

I have no idea what goes on at other programs. Now answer my question how do you have the time to know so much of what happens at other programs and that other coaches don't do the same thing?

Fans that harp on this must be really dumb mofos....the best is very subjective. A guy coaching great talent isn't always better than a guy who is coaching lesser talent. Hiring Brady was not hiring the best...you do realize that right?

“The best” objectively does not include the likes of Scott Linehan and Bo Pelini.

You lose assistants every single season. Some quit, some move on, some are fired.

All you care about is getting rid of Orgeron, All I care about is winning.

This season takes care of his future, one way or another. You drama queens need a chill pill, stop the soy intake and relax.

Best most accurate post of the thread.

Those guys should be in Washington DC talking to the President. He would understand them.

Some get paid over a million to leave after one season because the coach did no vetting, like Matt Canada.

Some get paid over a million to leave after one season because the coach did no vetting, like Scott Linehan.

Some get paid over a million to leave after one season because the coach did no vetting, like Bo Pelini.

Notice a pattern?

Does hiring Brady qualify as hiring the best? his credentials...

quote:

Coaching career
New Orleans Saints
In 2017, Brady was hired by the New Orleans Saints as an offensive assistant under head coach Sean Payton.

LSU
In 2019, Brady joined head coach Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers as their passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach.[

I am glad O didn't hire a guy who everyone had rated the best bc we wouldn't have hired Brady

What did O mean when he said he was going to hire the best? Best for what he envisioned for LSU? Best based on composite rankings of coaches...is there even a way to determine the best?

Some of you really do not understand coach speak. Have you ever heard a coach say in first press conference "I plan on hiring the worst coaches"? "We won't compete for championships" etc..

Low IQ soys have their minds in the hive, and rationality cannot move them.

These are the same figs that have been ranting since the day Les left. frick, some have been crying since Saban left.

You can't rationally deal with irrational soy boys.
