He should’ve been benched. I didn’t disagree with it then and I wouldn’t disagree with CPM if he made that decision now. I never said anything to the contrary and I never said .260 was a good average. To play D1 baseball and hit that as a freshman means you don’t suck as a baseball player. That’s the point I was making, not that he tore it up hitting .260

He hasn’t proved that’s hes worth anything either what has he done? Nothing, quit living in your dream world kid, he’ll be on the bench soon enough

Every time he comes up to bat I feel doom and gloom becaus I know he will be getting out soon

And I’d be totally fine with that. I’ve said it plenty of times. Again, you only see what you want to see, “kid”

is this slaughter guy suppose to be a 5 tool player? was he highly regarded in high school?

Stevenson was nowhere close to that and is now a pro.
Not a real good analogy. Stevenson’s glove and speed kept him in the lineup until his bat came around.

how awful is your life that you spend your sunday discussing how awful an LSU player is at baseball. I honestly feel bad for you.

I wasn’t bashing Stevenson. That’s what maniac does. Slaughter had a higher batting average. Stevenson hit less than .200 for the season. Slaughter had almost twice as many rbi’s and more homeruns. I gave him an example that people struggle hitting the ball at times, especially earlier in their careers. Stevenson went pro early two years later. It’s a more fair comparison than saying Slaughter sucks because a real baseball player looks like Alex Bregman

Reid should get a chance. He has been way better offensively and defensively

He’s at like .03 now. About what my batting average would be

he would not start on most teams. He put up ok numbers at a small high school

I still haven't got over the slide in Omaha.

Something has to happen by the time SEC play gets here...either he gets better or we make a change

if you were bashing a 18 year old you fricking loser.
I like how on the OT an 18 year old is a grown man with no excuse for making poor decisions or not being able to do a good job.
On the rant, an 18 year old player is a young kid who is still learning and doesn’t deserve any criticism because no poster could ever do what they do.

if some of the balls that he hit this year would have dropped, they would’ve driven in runs and you wouldn’t be saying that
Yeah, and if all of them would've fallen he'd be batting 1.000, but he's gotten out over 80% of the time.

Of course it will.
I've also been hard on him, he lost me on that spiking play at 2nd in the CWS, but I honestly think he's pressing way too much. So much so that he's struggling catching pop-up's. Either that or he vision issues which should have been identified by now.
He should try to relax and let his natural ability get him through this.
Not sure if PM will exercise much more patience with him.

He's decent at best at 3rd base.
I have been incredibly underwhelmed with his play in the field (and obviously at the plate).
