I know Texas has a lot of money and I have heard some big numbers if they are true. We will see after the Season. I heard a number like 20 Million and his own Private Jet. If he is actually hit with those numbers it will interesting to see what he does.

If he is hit with that kind of number, then the rumors that his wife was in Texas 2 weeks ago looking for a "vacation home" will pretty much confirm he's dumping the Gumpers! I'm just saying.

An egotistical money whore. And Miles isn't?? Don't they make in the same ballpark?? Hasn't Miles leveraged phantom UM and Ark offers for more jack and years?? Love how Saban is portrayed as an arse, money lover, liar etc but Miles is not. Didn't he leave players at OSU whom thought he would be there forever?? What about the stories of past indiscretions at UM which is a big reason he did not get the job there. Miles is just not as rough around the edges. But they are more similar than different.

I like the guy, he delivered LSU from the dark ages to the golden era we are now in the midst of.

I don't despise him but I despise the placement of him as a football god by some of the LSU fanbase.

I believe:
LSU made him as much as he made us.

He has it easy at Bama with the schedule they have had over the last 2 to 3 years

They did not deserve the re match

He has lost to the following schools: ULM, and UAB - OMG this is crazy unforgettable stuff

This is personal and I am sorry but it speaks somewhat to him as a man - His kids are troubled.

He lied to LSU when he left and coming back to the SEC to coach one of our staunch rivals was a slap in the face to LSU. I cannot get over it.

I dont' hate him but don't like the man he is and believe he is given too much credit for many things.

How?

My question for everyone who works for a company is this...If you are listening to other offers and your boss asks you if you are entertaining other offers would you tell him yes before accepting another job?

So, do you lie about it as he did?

There are ways to respond with integrity. Not saying every situation is the same but I would respond by saying, yes I am entertaining other offers now. I am curious about positions in the NFL. This may be an opportunity I cannot pass up.

I trust by relationship with my current employer and believe they would support me in my growth even if it means leaving the Company.

And yes, I have been in this position before.

Most coaches/people would deny. It isn't very smart for a coach to say "hell yeh I am entertaining other offers" while in the midst of recruiting kids to come play for them. If the deal doesn't go through they may lose kids because of it.

Do you think coaches (including CLM) make promises to recruits they can't keep?

Hate is a strong word, I'll say I dislike him intensely. Many of the reasons why are already stated in this thread but mostly because he seems to take particular joy in pilfering talent from Louisiana. He enjoys an advantage gained by the opportunity LSU gave him when they hired him as their head coach. He developed relationships with our state's coaches. He also uses underhanded tactics to "acquire" the recruits (example: Landon Collins).

And I live in Alabama. Where Roll Tide with that heavy southern drawl makes me wanta

As good as Saban is at 'coach speak', he didn't have to address the BAMA rumors with an outright lie. Does anyone believe Mal Moore initiated contact with Saban when he wanted to bail out on Miami...Moore may have been a good AD, but come on. Saban's agent Sexton is the one who got that ball rolling.
And Saban didn't know what was going on?

Don't hate him personally, and don't find it that unusual that he lied about taking a pro job. Didn't like it, but not surprised.

Every coach ever has done this. Let's consider the alternative.

"Sure, I'm happy to officially lame-duck myself with my current team and lose all of the school's recruits by admitting that there will be a new staff in town in a few months. Now let's go out and win! Because my heart and soul are 100% with this program for the next couple of days!"

Get real. How many of you got the question "are you committed to this company long-term", answered "absolutely", and continued shopping your resume as discreetly as you could?

Coaches all do this. Okie State's fans aren't exactly pleased with the way Miles left.

Grow up.

I hate him with Sports Hate which is different than real hate. I'll probably not hate him when he leaves Bama but I will never like the guy as he is a jerk.

That being said, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care.

I respect him as a coach, and I'm grateful for what he helped to accomplish at LSU. While I wished he hadn't left when he did, I actually was pulling for him to succeed in the NFL as it felt like it would also be a win for LSU. However, when he willing courted and eventually took a college coaching job at not only an SEC program but an SEC WEST program, I hoped he'd get crotch rot...real bad. frick him with a chainsaw for that bullshite. He was obviously free to do whatever he wanted to do, but I heard from enough people in the know at the time to know that the guy was GENUINELY clueless as to why LSU fans were so pissed about it. It never dawned on the guy that we might, you know, take it personally that he decided to take a job where, by definition, he would be working daily to tear down what he built here. And, as someone said, I really dislike liars.

All of this. I also want to add that it annoys me that some student sections were suspended for showing up late and leaving early. I feel like he had a (pimp slap) hand in that. If you buy a ticket, you have the right to leave/arrive whenever the hell you want. I would be beyond pissed if he pulled that when he was at LSU.

No, I don't hate him.

Saban played a huge role in helping LSU get to and stay at a high level nationally. He was the coach who laid the foundation and built the program that Miles took over.

DiNardo? No. He's an average TV commentator for Big Ten games, which is the peak of his professional career in football.

As for Saban leaving LSU, he did nothing that any professional doesn't do when they want to continue to climb the career ladder. He wanted to test his skills in the NFL. That desire wasn't a secret when he came to LSU and it shouldn't have been a surprise when he left.

And for the all the people who scream "he lied" when they comment on Saban's departure from LSU or Miami, please... No head coach of a major university or NFL team is going to declare publicly that they are considering moving on, even if they are questioned directly about the subject.

Didn't Miles "lie" to Okie State - his AD, team, coaches and recruits - when he took the LSU job? Of course he, did, just like Saban did at LSU and Miami. And neither man should be faulted for what they did and how. It's how the process works.

And what about Saban going to Bama? Why wouldn't he? Historically, Alabama is the premier program in the SEC and one of a handful of elite programs nationally since - well for decades. Why would I hate him for taking a job that he was obviously qualified for?

Saban will go down as the best coach of his generation and one of the all-time greats. I'm just thankful he passed through LSU for a time and we got to benefit from his talent. I was at every game in the 90s and I remember the junk that LSU put out on the field.

Thank you Saban for creating a successful football program at LSU. I hope you are victim of your success a week from Saturday.
