Nah dawg there’s gon be more than 1 first rounder. All of them are locks but 2 or 3 ain’t unreasonable.

Don't know about Gilbert. He's gonna be really good, but the last TE to go in the top five was in 1972. Lots of other guys that could go top 5 though. Ricks, Ojulari, Roy, Boutte, just to name a few.

If Arik Gilbert is a top 5 pick then he will have had a better career at LSU than Burrow did. In other words, it's not happening.

Strangely enough, I think Ja'marr Chase faces an up hill battle to be top 5. Look at Jerry Jeudy. He won the Biletnikoff as a sophomore and he was not even the top receiver from his college team.
Unless Ja'marr can win the Biletnikoff again somehow, I doubt he will be top 5. The draft people will tear him down over the next year. Not tall enough, not fast enough, etc.
Pure bullshite of course, but it happens every year. I think winning the Biletnikoff again would shut them up though.

If he lives up to the hype, hell be put at wide out more than tight end. And if a kid that big can put up first round pick numbers, he might well go in the top 5.

This was the first thing I thought when I read the OP. Jeudy was considered a top 5 lock this time last year as well but it is almost impossible to reproduce historic production like JaMarr had last season. And that isnt even taking into account that, unlike Jeudy, JaMarr's QB is gone, most of his OLine is gone, his Passing Game coordinator is gone, and the slot WR who stopped him from facing double teams all game is also gone. And JaMarr will probably test well but he is not a Calvin Johnson or Henry Ruggs level freak athlete in my opinion. I wouldnt be shocked if Jets 40 tine this year bests JaMarr's time next year (Jets did beat out Jeudy and Lamb this year). Lastly, I hope the notorious junior year injury bug doesnt get JaMarr like it did Fournette, Guice, and Delpit.

Chase would have been the second overall pick had he come out this year.

This is absurd.

How so? You think a TE is going get picked in the top 5?

Are you being serious? So, Chase would have been picked ahead of Young? You are delusional.

Way too early, especially for a WR at this time a year ago Jeudy was supposed to be a top 5 pick (won the Bilentnikoff as a soph)

anointing a kid that has yet to play a down of CFB is way over board to begin with but I don't think a TE has ever been picked in the top 5 at least since the merger

Yet, I'm being absurd.

If chase runs a 4.4 he will be top 5. Joe will make a request.

One of the greatest Tigers IMO. He obviously made the right choice and he is already making a huge impact in TB. With that said, it would have been awesome seeing him on the field with the 2019 team. Bringing havoc and breaking things. Speed and impact!

Chase no lock at all next year. Top 10/15 lock but not top 5. IMO
