When did basketball become bigger than baseball in Louisiana? When that happens...then maybe I would think of trading one. If basketball was big in Louisiana...like it is in N Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana and New York/Northeast...then LSU would be able to bring in the best basketball players in the country every year. But sadly...Lousiana just doesnt generate great basketball talent year in and year out.

Also..the question is bizarre. What do you mean by trade? Does our basketball team magically get a trophy?...even if we dont have the talent or coach to win it? This is silly.

I hate these thread. The basketball team should earn their championships, just like everybody else.

You do realize that it isn't giving the basketball team a title? it's just saying...would you trade a year where the basketball team did the hard work and caught the breaks and the baseball team didn't do the work.

it's a hypothetical question....it's not a real scenario.

and also...to win a title in basketball is the hardest thing to do. Baseball is about 20x easier. mainly because of the lack of schools that take baseball seriously.

I read the title of the thread, and immediately assumed Rex started it.

The answer is ZERO.

This.

I would trade 2 or 3 of our baseball titles to get 1 basketball. It would be great to be a 3 sport school.

We're talking NATIONAL championships. Basketball was bigger than baseball at LSU during the Dale Brown years, and would be so again EASILY if we had a championship team.

I think it's pretty obvious.... which would you prefer: six baseball national championships or one basketball national championship?

I'd take the basketball championship. College basketball is a far bigger and more prestigious sport on the national stage.

The basketball team can't even fill up the PMAC when they are doing good. Face basketball is behind Football and Baseball as far as popularity at LSU.

By the way I will say it again. I would rather lose every game in basketball if it meant getting another NC in Baseball or Football.

I couldn't agree more.

We're second in Baseball national championships to USC...and are clearly regarded as the TOP Baseball program in the country. Why would I want to trade that for 1 measly basketball championship. Hell...Florida won 2 basketball NCs in a row and im sure no one thinks of Florida when talking about College Basketball...I know I dont.
