based on basically ZERO college evidence?

I mean hell, I hope really is great and he may be. BUT, you'd think that with college football history literally littered with "can't miss" prospects, people would at least wait for some on field evidence before they went all in assuming that HS will definitely translate to college.

Ask Dalton Hilliard if he was the #1 RB recruit residing on LSU's team when he played.

Because they get bored of talking about how bad JJ is and why we don't use the wildcat, and there's not much else to criticize on this team.

Speaking of which, people need to get with the times. Most teams are using the wildcat MUCH less if at all these days.

Cool. I'm old enough to already know the answer.

It is based solely on what the coaches told us the past 8 months. About how great he was, how fast and powerful. Just a month ago I listened to Frank Wilson myself say how we can expect to see a lot of Ford this year. When asked who will be the breakout player Wilson and Crowtown both said Ford. 3 games later, no Ford. I don't care who plays, but don't lie about the reason.

He did shred apart a great lsu defense in the spring game. We didn't know at that point how good the defense was, but we do now.

I'm not mad that he's not playing. I just want to know the reason why. He seemed to be forced the ball in the spring. Appeared to be a nice compliment to Ridley. Now he's not touching the field. I'd just like an explanation as to what happened between then and now to change it. That's all.

because he went off against our defense in a spring game which was split up between 2 teams, neither of which had drake nevis, josh downs, kelvin sheppard, or any true freshman currently contributing. people calling for ford as the savior of the offense is a joke. "just give him 5 plays, i don't care that he doesn't know the play book" yadayadayada. the truth is, he's similar to the other backs in terms of talent, so if they know the playbook and are more trustworthy, then of course they will play over him.

Wow, I didn't hear any of this, but if that's true, that makes sense why ppl are bitching about no ford so much. Our coaches really do a good job of hyping shite up and then not delivering in practice, don't they? (ex. getting the ball to RS last year, JJ's improvement and leadership, our offense this year being an "attacking offense", etc)

Based on 3 games and current college opportunities, does it look like our staff obviously misjudged talent when we took Ford over Lacey?

The people I'm talking about are the ones who say, "you can't convince me so and so is better than Ford".

If you think the coaches made misleading statements, great. BUT, to act like you KNOW Ford is going to be good in games is silly. Until you see it, it's just theory.

Obviously, Blue has done the things necessary to be the next option to run the ball. There is more to being a RB than just taking a handoff and running. There is also this little thing called blocking, picking up the blitz, catching out the backfield (although, three games into the season and have we even thrown to the RB yet?), etc. Perhaps Blue does all these things better in practice. Who really cares, at this point, what these kids did in high school against inferior talent? Who cares what their star rating was during the recruitment process?

I think focusing on Ford's lack of carries is pointless right now.

I love when people say I deserve to konw why or I want to know the reason why. It ain't no business of yours why the coach knows why and thats all the matters. Belive it or not, you mean nothing to the coach whenn they are out there on the field. The coach is paid to win and the team plays to win and thats what they are doing so you probably will never know the reason why because that isn't an important thing for the coach.

He broke Cecil Collins rushing records at Leesville. For the brief glimpse he had of a college career, everyone thought he could have been the best ever. There is a chance Michael Ford could be better, but we won't know until he plays.
