My girlfriend was a 1979 grad with Howard. She was an LSU dancer for basketball (Tigresses or something). Howard was always hitting on her. I knew him from living in Broussard Hall.

I bet that you were taught by my best friend. I bet that you were also taught by a few other friends of mine, who are no longer there.

He lives in BR. Works for the Tx Ascessors office. He has a daughter that lives in France from when he played ball overseas. She comes down and visits during Summer.

He was a great player and that 80-81 LSU team was my second favorite of all time after the '86 team. Great team with some great players.

to those who remember HC draining baseline jumpers, i remember a baseline game winner on the road (might have been at Georgia). he was square deep in the corner.

I remember being in the student section for his last home game as a senior. He hit about 13 shots in a row during warm ups and the students started saying 14..... 15..... 16 until he missed his 17th shot after hitting 16 in a row from 25 feet. He was way ahead of his time with his size and the moves he could make. He was about 80% from the line also.

I played at Central when he was at Redemtorist. I had to guard him. I will never forget playing them in that cracker box gym with the fans seated along the boundary. I was told never to let him dunk in that gym. It resulted in several two-shot fouls. He was athletic, big, and could jump out the gym. He was fun to watch, but hell to guard.

Smoke - you are absolutely right - Hi C hit a deep corner jumper with one second to geaux to beat UGA i think 66-65. It was close throughout the game. He was money with the game on the line. Other than chris jackson best shooter i have ever seen wear the purple and gold. Great memories of Hi C back in the day playing with Rudy and The cookie man and Ethan Martin and Willie Sims and Leonard Mitchell. man what an awesome team that was !

Yes. A few of his quotes: "Coach say sometimes I'm too quick for myself" and "Coach say I have to shoot myself out of my slump".

Hi C's coach Rick Huckaby was offered a job by Dale Brown to "ensure" that Hi C would come to LSU. Dale Brown was way ahead of his time on how to bend the rules.

I loved Taylor's game, and he did have a sweet shot from tht top of the key, but Hi-C was definitely the better shooter and overall player. You do realize that Carter was a 1st Round draft pick (15th overall)?
