They seem capable of giving a LSU a real challenge and beating us if we come in a little slow.

Have a decent resume on the schedule so far this year.

Loss to Florida (Barely) who beat us and a surprisingly good KY team.

LSU has to take advantage of the home field advantage and go all into this one.

Really good defensive front seven, strong running game, Fitz can’t pass at all. Stop the run and you stop state.

LSU is capable of losing this game for sure. Teams seem to have success beating State when they force Fitzgerald to play QB. If we can do that, we win. If we can't, we'll see.

They have the #1 overall scoring defense in the country

It’s going to be a battle for sure. They have two first round picks on the DL in Sweat and Simmons

I'm worried because we can't stop the damn run, especially with a dual threat QB who runs between the tackles.

ESPN will probably all pick LSU to win now, so they have that going for them.

Look at what Moo St. did to LSU last year. Most of their big players are back this year. Those players skull dragged us.

It's definitely not a game that can be overlooked....if we play like we did Saturday we should win though I think.

Now if we play like we did in the Swamp we probably lose.

If LSU happens to whip State I’ll be more impressed with that win vs the Georgia win. Getting a team up for two weeks in a row like that would mean this staff is on to something special.

Let's hope they get stupid like UGA and abandon running it up the middle.

He's not throwing well this year. Stop him from running and they'll struggle on offence.

LSU at home should win by 2 TDs. But this is a classic trap game. LSU is coming off an emotional win at home with another emotional game at home looming on November 3rd.

Miss State looks "good but not great." Yet as others mentioned, their defense is stout. Their running game is really strong and appears to be our weak link on defense.

We will lack the emotional edge in this game. We need our players to perform even without that emotional edge.

As most games in the SEC, this one will be won/lost at the LOS. MSU has basically no passing game, our secondary should be able to handle whatever he throws at them without relying on much help. The D-line & LB’s need to contain Fitz, clog up the running lanes, & not allow runners to get outside on them. Tackling needs to improve also, we can’t keep giving runners extra yards & qb’s second chances when they should be thrown for a loss. So many whiffs & bad angles when we do penetrate into the backfield; that needs to change. I have a feeling that Aranda is taking this one personal after what happened in Starkvegas last year. He/his defense was embarrassed & I’d think that doesn’t set well with him & he’ll be looking to make a statement.
If the Tigers aren’t hungover emotionally & the crowd shows up like they did Saturday, LSU should handle these mutts to the tune of a double digit win. If LSU is still stuck in the afterglow of last week & the crowd isn’t interested, it could get very interesting for the #5 team

This game will be close and hard fought. Miss St has a very good defensive line which can cause havoc in our run game. JB will have to make some plays in the passing game or it will be long night in Tiger Stadium.

Also, LSU will have to contain Fitzgerald and make him beat you with his arm. If they get the running game going they can ball control LSU and win.

I think this will be a very hard fought game but hopefully LSU playing at home, with everything on the line, will find a way to win.

LSU 24 Miss St 20

PS: MSU was ranked higher in the SEC than LSU in every preseason poll that I saw.

Slightly better than the average MSU team. LSU should win handily. That being said, we'll probably have a 20 point lead at the half and let them climb back to within 7 points in the second half.

The fact they are so one dimensional will certainly help our cause. I just can’t see them fitzing us to death like last year
