Baseball is a finicky sport and I am on the record as a Mainieri supporter, but this program does not feel like it is headed in a good direction...anyone else have that feeling?

No. Big picture, the program is in great shape.

We are better than UL-L.

Significant advantage for game 1, and 50/50 at worst for games 2 and 3.

Based on my opinion. ULL is a good baseball team but they're overrated and definitely have plenty of weaknesses. Nobody is a powerhouse this year and that makes every team vulnerable. All it takes is the right team to get hot at the right time. We should be getting better with some pitching returning.

I honestly don't think ULL can beat us with Nola on the mound.

I'm throwing Poche against the 3 seed in the regional no matter what.

It would be tough.

The one thing the Cajuns do really well that most people aren't aware of is play small ball. They're very good at bunting, stealing, and hit and runs. That would be the type of offensive approach you would see them take versus Nola

Absolutely. If you want a chance to win the regional, you have to do that

I think we'd win game 1 but then after that it's up for grabs. ULL is definitely capable of putting the hurting on a LSU.

whoa. Don't go that far.

LSU is vulnerable against any quality team due to its lack of offense.

Same here. You have to play to win the regional not one game.

As of now,

I see us as a 2 seed in Lafayette. I think we win game 1 with Poche against some scrub 3 seed, get by ULL with Nola, and then lose 2 consecutive games in the regional finals to ULL because of a lack of pitching depth.

What's weird is to me, we either do that, or make it to omaha, win game 1 and lose in the next two.

I dont think this team is as made up for a regional as they are for a super.
No margin for error, one loss, and we'd be done.
