Unless Daniel’s has figured out how to throw the ball. He would be a disaster. Not saying he not figured it out. But he has not shown it in three years as a starter.

He literally has a higher completion % than Nuss or Brennan.

62.4% for Daniels
60.0% for Brennan

Nuss in the 50's

This isn't a Joe Burrow or even a Jalen Hurts we're talking about. Nuss is a redshirt freshman. He skipped the bowl game specifically so he could have 4 more years to plan his future in football.

He's not leaving LSU this season.

It's possible but just because he took a redshirt year doesn't mean he intends to stay at LSU.

There's a lot of variables that could easily lead to him jumping in the portal.

Welcome back purple tiger king.

I see you're done shilling for Johnson and have moved on to Nuss.

and the ability to throw the ball effectively.

Does he, really? Kelly always comments on Nuss needing to protect the ball. In fact, said hes not good at the boot because he doesnt protect the ball

(Nussmeier) was running boot. He's not really good as a boot guy, he doesn't protect the ball well.

Absolutely, but he's not leaving this fall. The only D1 team he takes a snap at this fall is LSU.

Maybe, for whatever reason, things shake out poorly for him, he doesn't get much play time this fall, and he's facing another open competition with Daniels and Howard in the spring.

Makes sense to go in the portal then.

I don't really care about the number of starts, or how old the QB is, or what people think a WR said, but whoever is QB1 on gameday is who the staff believes will do the best job protecting the football while executing the plays Denbrock has selected for that specific QB.

I do believe the strength of the O line will play a major role in who the starting QB is. Brennan has to have a good line to be effective and would probably be our best QB if he has time to throw, with Daniel or Nuss playing in some special packages. Nuss and Daniels can move much better, so if our line is suspect, it will probable be either or possibly both of them playing.
