Assuming the job is available, which as of 3:26 pm it officially is not, how does LSU avoid being used by coaches only looking for a raise at their existing school?

Or as in the case of Tom Herman, where he used LSU's offer to get the job he really wanted at Texas, what can we do to not waste time with fakes and pretenders?

Using Kiffin and Jimbo as examples, I'd hate for Florida to beat us to the punch of signing Kiffin to a contract, because we were wasting time with the next Tom Herman. Or Jimbo stringing us along as he works behind the scenes to secure a raise/contract extension from A&M.

You can’t, it’s part of the game

That’s apart of the game, boss. You don’t try to leverage the next gig at your current job for extra money?

The game is the game.

It’s part of negotiations and, let’s be honest, if that’s what happens, LSU put itself in that situation. It’s the school’s (Woddy’s) own fault

We can't.

Even if we decide to hold off until the end of the season, BK is a dead man walking and the entire CFB world knows it.

The FU and Penn State jobs are also leverage.
