K maybe someone can answer my question..

My family has 2 season tickets, we've had them for at least 20 years.. Never gone to bowl games or championship games. We don't donate to TAF, only traditional fund.

What are out options and how much would face value be if we got lucky with lottery?

Well, neither of my rankings are high BUT my philanthropic ranking is HIGHER than my overall ranking.

SO by giving my money to PHILANTHROPIC things I'm screwing myself???

Boudin, they don't care how long or how many tickets you have nor if you've been to bowl/championship games. Face value is like 300 for upper level, 350 for plaza and i don't remember the rest .. look at the allstate sugar bowl website .. links to BCS game.

Face is $300 and $350. If you are the gambling type, your best option is to purchase a ticket reserve. The way it works is you buy the right to purchase a ticket at face value if the team you buy the option for is in the game. Currently a terrace section reserve for LSU is $340. Buyer also pays a 7% commission and there is also a shipping fee. So if LSU goes your total out of pocket expense will be about $665 per ticket plus shipping. If LSU doesn't go you lose the $340. Current prices on stubhub start at $1129, plus commission and shipping. Who the other team is will have a lot to do with the market value of tickets.

No, the only difference between the Philanthropic and the regular is that the Philanthropic does not include tradition fund donations. So if you donate to the Philanthropic fund, it counts towards both. The reason your Philanthropic is higher than your overall is that there are a lot of people that don't give anything other then the required donations attached to their ticket purchase.

We have had 6 season tickets (4 together and 2 together) for as long as I can remember(probably close to 30 years). I have never donated money to TAF. I, like you, only pay the tradition fund.

In 2003 I got 4 tickets, but my dad worked at LSU. In 2007 I got 2 in the lottery(my dad had retired in the beginning of 03). I tend to think that my 07 tickets was half luck and half of my dad knowing the right people.

Well this time around most of the people he worked with are gone, some still remain and I stay in touch as often as I can. I think it is a crap shot for me this year

I feel great - my TAF number is in the low 2000's so I should at least get 2 and hopefully 4 (I have 4 season tickets); however, my brother has a two digit TAF number AND he owns 1/4 interest (8 seats) in a suite in the dome. He's looking at 16 seats total.

In my job, I've hosted several large conferences at the Marriott on Canal so I was able to get 4 suites for the price of regular rooms and 4 additional rooms. The only bad this about this hotel is that they have a contract with the BCS and they always host the non-SEC team for the Sugar Bowl and the "Away" team for the BCS Championship game. In short, they get to host the team that travels the greatest distance. Good for the hotel, bad for us... Especially if we have a rematch with the Red Elephants.

I donate on top of my ticket donation every year, but I still keep dropping in the rankings. I got 2 in 2003 and 2007. I missed the cut off for Bama tickets by 53, so I know it's going to be tight for me. Just keeping my fingers crossed. If they didn't do a lottery and went only by ranking I'd probably be safe.

Sorry CPT ... in 2007 OSU stayed at the Hilton Riverside (I was there) and the Tigers stayed at the Marriott. So the team that traveled the further distance was NOT at the Marriott.

I think the away team is the #2 team and the home team is the #1 team.

Bama cutoff was 3686 and there was no lottery.

Also just got the following response from LSU on the priority system for post season:

quote:

Post-Season tickets are allocated based on the overall priority point ranking system. Thank you for pointing out the discrepancy on the website. We are making that change on the site. Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist you with.

I think I have done the math and if everyone orders as many tickets as they can, TAF rating of approximately 2800 will be the lowest to receive tickets. That is based on receiving 16000 tickets and alloting 1000 for the lottery. This leaves me out. If my math is incorrect , please advise.

Well , that's what the sales manager told me. Maybe those contracts change from year to year. She told me that this year, they will not get LSU for either game.
