It sounds like he knows that bringing in the wrong people can destroy the chemistry of a team and derail a whole season, and he's not going to have that.

Depends on how you interpret this message. I don't see it as him saying, "well, we don't want any blue chips because they all demand high money". He's saying they have to be the right fit culture wise in the program, unselfish players, can still be high end, no major character issues. They can still make money and he's definitely still looking at the high end blue chip.
What he's saying here is he doesn't want someone who's selfish to come in who's a ME player only looking to use LSU as a stepping stone to the NFL. They don't care about teammates or academics. a lot of elite talent will do this when they transfer.
He has the right mindset. I'm all for it.

I read it two ways. One, if you transfer here you have to fit. Two, if you transferred here, it doesn't mean you are "safe". I'd be willing to bet that a few transfers won't be on the team next year.
