How is it obvious? Give me some proof.

I live in Orlando among Gator, Bama, Nole, Hurricane, Georgia and even Buckeye fans. The college football fans I know don't think much of Les.

I think he's an average coach and a solid recruiter, but I would never want him coaching at Alabama.

ETA: I think he's one of the classiest coaches in college football and have a tremendous amount of respect for him, I just don't think he belongs in the SEC, but I don't mind LSU keeping him around for a while.

I loved Bowden, and was sad to see him go. I love Richt and want him to stay at Gawjuh. similarly, I want Les to remain at LSU until I die.

There was a post on the ESPN board today hoping LSU would keep Miles instead of hiring someone else and contending again.

LSU fans have high opinions of Miles compared to non LSU fans

How can you be sure it wasn't one of our resident brain dead rantards that logged in that post?

A close friend of mine told me that we would hate Mles in two years and fire him. THis is when we were basking in the glow of a title.

I think it was the day after the game actually. He said it was hard to see how stupid he is because everything he did wrong worked, and it hid his faults. And that we wouldn'keep getting lucky in close gams.

Take it for what it's worth, but he was spot on.

Depends on who you are talking to. Anyone who really knows football, like HS coaches or CLM's peers, and he is a damn good coach.
People who are wannabes and dumbasses, like the crowd around here, think CLM is garbage

Dude, I promise you, anybody who really knows football knows when the clock starts and stops. How come our "damn good coach" can't figure this out?

I was in LA the day after the NC game with some Gumps and UT fans and the Bama guys all were really great and i asked them about Les and they literally shook their heads and said they were sorry that we had him. No sarcasm, no nothing. I've never seen Gump fans do this, they seemed genuinely sorry for us that we had Miles.

They think he is articulate, bright, witty, sharp dresser (ie hats), and a connoisseur of fine time pieces...

An idiot, and they'd love for him to be here forever because it gives all of them hope and greater confidence that as long as he is, we will never be a true contender.

I pretty much take heat on a weekly basis by OU and OSU fans in Oklahoma making fun of Les.

a friend of mine is a Gump and he calls Miles a Les-ron (moron) and hopes he stays at LSU forever. i also spoke to some Miss State students recently and I asked one if he would trade Miles for Mullen, and the kid almost choked he started to laugh so hard. proceeded to say that Miles was "a f*cking idiot". so, yes. even Miss State fans wouldn't trade us

Baker, I made this exact point a few days ago that it's pervasive on a national level, at EVERY level. Media, all the way down to message boards and everything in between.

Go to Scout or Rivals and let's start a poll on the board of every top 25-50 team. Simply pose the question: "If you lost insert their coaches name here, who would your top 5 candidates be to replace him"?

I guarantee...guarantee.....that with the possible exception of UM, Miles wouldn't make the list of 5 for ANY school.

That tells you all you need to know....unless you're Choctaw.....
