How did Tigerdroppings get so Big?

Its arguably bigger than TexAgs, BOL, Orangebloods....and those are schools with huge alumni bases and more national following (maybe?)
So how did the crappiest message board get to be such a monster?

avidness of fanship is highest here. We are sick for football at a level of intensity and pervasiveness that is just not seem anywhere else. Plus, the user friendliness and personalities are better on the rant.
