Well you see, the Louisiana GOP and it's electorate is what we call in the industry "stupid". A simple people, they like to run people like Vitter (a pervert), then the next go round, they run 2 capable candidates but don't make any endorsements so they can beat each other to death while the Dem cruises in, and finally you get a cartoon character like Landry.

The thing about Jeff Landry is that he's actually smart. I know people who have known the guy for years and years and behind the scenes, he's quick and knows exactly what he's doing. Then he goes out in public just hocking this buffoonery and everybody eats it the frick up.

In the end, nothing will ever happen about the insurance rates, business environment, infrastructure, taxes, etc. We will be in the same EXACT boat we were in on the day he took office. But we'll also have a bunch of other idiotic social issues bullshite that he thinks will register. We got the Ten Commandments in schools, we got a fake Mike the Tiger, and we ran off Scott Woodward. hooray.

I don’t know, but he won’t be re-elected if LSU makes a crappy hire. He torpedoed this search from day one.

The "end result" may very well end up being a coach that is worse than Brian Kelly. This had very little to do with wanting to better LSU football and more to do with Landry wanting the spotlight on him.

look, Landry probably stepped over the line here,
100% he did.

but is the result bad? Kelly needed to be canned and so did Woodward.

the narrative is this does not happen without Landry. Let's be clear, there are/were other folks involved.

And for those who keep saying none of this matters....IMHO it's already come out that it does.

So his methods may have been bizarre, but the end result is ok with me.
We don't know the end result yet, but with the President/Verge thing playing out terribly awkwardly it may not end well and his actions are a BIG part of that embarrassment.
