Dude, what is your argument? That Miles should have played Jefferson against Tulane so that he would be prepared to play in the event that Lee was injured in one of the other games or that he should have started against Tulane?
The general idea was to save Jefferson's redshirt.

miles is a better stepfather than coker b/c he recruits better and is a better CEO
this is accurate
but the difference is Miles has it harder. He faces more competition than Coker had in the ACC ..Miles must out-dual Saban, Meyer, Richt and other proven winners like Petrino, Spurrier, et al
You have to be able to recruit and game-day coach to be dominant in the SEC...some can do both and some can only do one of the two... like Nutt for example
I want to see Les be at the top of the conference in both

For the record, we still beat Iowa if the "defensive guru" plays prevent defense on the last play of the game.

So IMHO you blame the fight for his firing you're blaming Lary Coker.
I just think there's some sensitivity and misplaced loyalty in defending Coker
Absolutely! The team was his responsibility. I'm not sensative about it. No way should that have happened in a game. However, the man had a damned good W/L record & recruited well. So my feeling is he was a good coach as far as W/L's, but could not control those players. Whether or not you think he's a good coach at 60-15 is up fro debate I suppose.
All I am saying is IF the FIU fight didn't happen, Coker would have remained as Miami's Coach. It's not an opinion.
Woody Hayes couldn't control his own temper. Does it make him a bad coach? How many even remember anything about Woody Hayes other than the "The Punch"?

The question is will you be as forgivable with Miles as the coach as you would possibly be if Saban was the coach if we don't go undefeated every year.

Miles is not a fricking stepfather, this is his program now. There is not a shred of Sabans control left on this program. Anybody that says Saban could have done better after Miles took over is purely specalating on a subject that has been hashed out on this board until it is sickening. Saban made mistakes as Miles has made mistakes. There is no such thing as a perfect coach, all coaches make errors in recruiting and coaching. Some of you need to understand or think for a min. how difficult it is to make a game changing decision and you've got a half min. or less to decide. I would screw up about 60 percent and most of you would do no better.

im sorry but the biggest LSU fan would not have anything about Southern Cal on their profile... You must be starting to see the greatness of the tigers, and how bad your team really is (USC just incase you could not figure it out). See what a GED can do for you!

No, not as sensitive as when you recently accused another poster for belittling our 2007 team when he basically said our defense hasn't been dominate since 2006.

You don't know that. He already had fired coaches in the offseason after we beat their arse. You don't know what would have happened had they not lost to Virginia, Va. Tech, Maryland, and Ga. Tech.

pj we older poster no that you would suck saban off til his balls caved in. get off his johnson.

At a big school like LSU a coach is never comfortable. Especially after an 8-5 season. Last year left a sting in a lot of people's mouths. For 3 years we were very confident in Miles. We still are but last year was painful. He'll just need to prove some more to the nation he's a damn good coach.
