I don’t know where he graduated from. But it’s your point of view that anyone that graduated from an SEC school should be barred from working for the SEC conference?

when it comes to officiating and determining subjective rulings on penalties that will impact the competition on the field, yes!

"This is dumb. Is the head of TAF an LSU grad?"
I refuse to believe you are that dumb. The head of TAF is not also the head of SEC refs.

Yet no one seems to know her name, years she was there, or have any actual proof.

Are you certain about this? I really would like to know the truth.

Riiter was born, raised, and lives in Nashville, went to Battleground Academy for high school, and then went to Vanderbilt. His kids go to Alabama which isn't all that unusual for Nashville these days.

Then how the hell can Ritter be the ultimate authority..in anonymity from Birmingham, no less, in the replay booth?

he was only in the replay booth for one year, in 2016. Ben Oldham, a Georgetown grad and Kentucky grad (PHD), is the head replay official currently.

No, he doesn't. He's present, so that he can hear the communication, but he is not allowed to participate in any way.

incorrect
quote:

Shaw and Dick Burleson monitor everything. Burleson, retired after a long career as an on-field official, assists Shaw with administrative duties. Neither gets involved in the replay reviews — Shaw is barred from doing so — though they watch and listen intently. Shaw’s primary role for the day is to monitor on-field officiating. He and Burleson keep a running list of calls and situations they’ll evaluate later.

Barred by whom?

This is a legitimate question, given there seems to be no transparency to much of this and almost not accountability after the fact.

By rule, he's not to interfere...but who's there to make sure that happens? In the end, we are just asked to take their word that things are being done appropriately, correct?

The conference.

Other conference officials, the officials themselves, etc.

The question to ask Ritter which will likely damn him is "Have you ever been paid speaking fees to give a talk to a group of Alabama alumni and/or fans.?"

Ask him that. If the answer is yes, then he needs to be canned immediately.

If he ever did it for a group of Alabama alumni, don't you think he would do it for other fan bases as well?

Pretty sure he doesn't work for the SEC anymore.

Can you also ask about what other speaking engagements he's had at other schools?

since I guess you failed to read the rest of this thread. Tom Ritter is not currently employed by the SEC

To my knowledge he didn't. He was presented as a "good friend of Bear Bryant" and spoke to a Bama Alumni group.

Even if he is not currently employed, the fact that he was employed for so long with this significant conflict of interest indicated that the whole process is in need of review.
