I'm not disagreeing at all with the practice media guys that Lee is a better passer than Jefferson..........it's probably true.

He isn't more football saavy than Jefferson though and he sure as hell doesn't protect the football and the team like Jefferson.

several videos from practice have shown JJ overthrowing 8 yard outs by 4 feet.
Today, practice reports from Moscona on Songy's show report that both JJ and RS are throwing the ball extremely well today, and you can't judge how good someone is doing from a few throws seen at one practice. All of these guys are going to have good days and bad, but I believe JJ's and RS's days will be MORE good than bad.

so sports writers that see 20 minutes can tell who is better without a doubt?

not without a doubt, but you never know.

We can't say the same for Lee AT ALL.

so because as a FR, he didnt protect the football, that means he'll never be able to protect it?

you never cease to amaze me

This should be "/thread", but sadly, it won't be.

We've seen that movie, and it was a stinker. Let's see how he does in some mop up duty and then reassess whether he can handle pure game situations under pressure. Maybe he has gotten better, we'll see. I know for sure though, that the QB job at LSU isn't an experiment.

im still waiting to see how Jefferson handles pressure too. He was crap in the 2nd half vs Ole Miss and ARK.

But Max seems to think that reporting this fact, no matter if it's true or not, means that the media has a rooting interest in seeing JL as the starting QB.

Your reading comprehension never ceases to amaze me..........I never said he won't be able too.

Jordan Jefferson was a TRUE FRESHMAN.........LEE was a Redshirt Freshman.......Jefferson understood the concepts of protecting the football with less practice time(by a whole year) and education from coaches.

Don't try to spin it......Jordan Jefferson showed more football acumen in 2 games as a decision maker than Lee did in 11.

My point is simply this.........

Jarrett Lee may be and probably is the better passer, BUT Jefferson is the better QB.

I understand your point, but how does this:
quote:

Correlate with this:
quote:

How badly does the local media want J Lee to win the QB job?

Just like in that comparison thread about JL and Randall, we always get off onto tangents that never really address the OP.

yeah his 49% completion rate and inability to score points in the 2nd half vs OM and ARK was awesome

I agree. Jefferson looked decent in his outings last year. But, it was limited. It will be interesting to see how he does this year, knowing that he is THE man and being able to practice with the 1's. But, alot of people act as if he came out at the end of the year and was a Heisman candidate. That simply isn't true. He struggled alot himself, big difference he didn't give up the pick 6's.

Some fans simply believe that because JL sucked at times last year, that he will always suck. If he would've been a 4th year Jr, I might buy that argument better. But, he was a RS Fr who clearly wasn't ready to start in the SEC.
I agree with those who say he struggled more as the year went by. But, that probably had alot to do with a) Def Coord. seeing his weaknesses with reading defenses b)He simply started losing confidence.
Look he may never get much better. But, I want to see how much he has improved because of last year.

1st off.......the Ole Miss game he was thrown into the fire.........but hey if that helps your point GO ahead and use it.......I'm not gonna knock points off for a backup qb being unprepared against a pretty decent defense.

Now Arkansas......We scored 30 points and lost the game! We didn't lose because of Jordan Jefferson inability to score points, WE LOST BECAUSE OF UNDISCIPLINED DEFENSE stretching drives..........

So let's look at game 3 with 4 weeks of prep time and practice time and talk about percentages..........

Nahhhhhhhhhhhh.......that wouldn't help your case.

and we started 3-4 drives in ARK territory and didnt score!! and we lost by a fricking point!

and we still only scored 3 2nd half points. And we scored 3 TD's on short fields.

Im not hating on Jefferson, i want the best QB to play. But dont be surprised when he goes through some hard times and the Rantards are calling for his head. It is bound to happen.

he's played about 7-8 quarters of football, and only half were worth a damn.
