My guess...he's now a mid 2nd rounder to a mid 3rd rounder

There's too much potential in that arm and he's shown this year that he takes to coaching and can improve greatly.

SI.com's adjusted opinion on met since the season ending injury LINK
7. Cleveland Browns: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU

Up from No. 17, to the Bears, in Mock 3.0. The initial plan for the Browns here was to wait and nab a quarterback later on, with Sammy Watkins the choice at No. 7. Mariota’s departure takes a big piece out of the QB puzzle, forcing the Browns to strike a lot earlier. Mettenberger can hit all the throws, a must for Rob Chudzinski’s vertical passing attack. (Update: Mettenberger reportedly suffered a torn ACL in LSU’s last game, which will keep him out of LSU’s bowl game and likely cause him to miss most pre-draft workouts. With that news, Mettenberger’s probably a Day 2 pick at best, with Johnny Manziel leading the list of replacement options for Cleveland here.)

I don't believe this is possible. Bridgewater and Mariota are the only guys that could go this high.

I think Mett's best chance in the first round is a team toward the front of the order moving up into the first after passing on a QB in the beginning of round one. Cleveland has the ammo to do this.

My prediction would be Arizona (I know I know "LSU WEST!!!") moving up to the top of round 2. Its a good fit for their vertical passing system, and Mett can sit this year behind Carson Palmer (or at least most of the year). They can use their first pick on improving the O-line or get a pass rusher.

Likely due to rehab and being unable to participate in senior bowl and the combine, Mett will probably go from a late 1st early second to a late pick between rounds 5-7. Team will figure he can learn the system and rehab, and compete the following year. its a real shame for some one that has worked really hard, dedicated himself, and had arguably worked himself into a late first round/second round pick.

Yall are coo-koo for coco puffs. Mett would be long gone by round 5. Zero chance of that unless the surgery went ghastly wrong.

I saw draft preview that had him in the top 10 this week.

lol, he won't drop THAT far from an ACL injury, assuming he was late 1st/ early 2nd pre-injury (which I think he was). as I said earlier, he's not a guy that relies on his mobility, and he plays in a pro style system as-is. there's 2 yrs of tape on him, 40 times and cone drills aren't gonna do much for his stock.

unless he becomes a slob between now and the draft, and/or bombs his interviews, he won't fall that far.

Mariota isn't even coming out this year.

Also, I don't see Mett going ahead of the following names [Then again, EJ was the 1st one off the board in '13, so who knows...]
Bridgewater
Manziel
Carr
Boyd
Hundley

and? that's not crazy if you're a RS Sr. and you don't play your rookie yr (see Carson Palmer). Weeden was like 28 and got drafted in the 1st a couple yrs ago.

Do we know that for sure?

I agree that Mett goes after Bridgewater, Carr and maybe Manziel. But I think he's higher than Boyd and maybe Hundley as well.

Matt Barkley tore his throwing shoulder at the same point in the season and he went in the top of round 4. Mett is a much better prospect that Barkley was coming out.

I think it's a dumb move on his part and he should consider what happen to M.Barkley when he came back last year [Granted they are in polar opposite situations]. I would capitalize on the league liking mobile-passers.

If a team does draft him they are doing so as a long term project. He definitely sits all of next season and won't see any pre-season action until 2015 at least.

i think you guys are being too generous. Zach had a bum knee all year now the knee just got destroyed. He will fall pretty good.

Pay the best to go in and reconstruct. Some people come back just as good or better. Adrian Peterson for example.
