I met him on Bourbon street the night before the 2011 championship game and had the exact opposite experience. He took a picture with me and a couple buddies and joked around for a minute and said he hoped we beat bama. Seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
Something tells me our friend with the riveting tale in this thread is a bit socially awkward.

16 years ago........and a single (likely alcohol-infused) evening.

I’ll give him a pass on your one night of exposure.

Oh, and isn’t it nice for you to slight what may be Eli’s wife. There’s a reason people are filtered from exposure to celebrities.

I was completely wrong about Salisbury.

I suppose you have no idea that Salisbury was “cool” only bc he wanted to bang your friend and saw you as a catalyst to make that a reality

He definitely has an affinity for the LSU tigers. He's been that way ever since the 2012 game vs bama in Death Valley that he went to. Apparently it left an impression on him that he cannot forget about, matter of fact, he said as much in an interview I heard with him after that game. He absolutely loved it and had nothing but great things to say about LSU, it's fans, the environment, etc. I know he's s Maryland fan, but I would be willing to bet he pulls for LSU now on the slick, lol.

Here's the 2012 lsu vs bama game interview.

Totally agree. But that’s why I say people aren’t always as they seem.

So you ran into this guy at Tropical Isle on Bourbon Street and you know everything about him?

Maybe you should take your own advice that "people aren't always as they seem" from a single encounter

SVP is well thought of here. Grad of Sherwood HS about mile from my house. Still supports school.

Did t read all of it but that was 16 years ago. People may change in almost 2 decades. Obviously the experience left a bad taste in your mouth.

How bad arse is Scott Van Pelt ? by LivininAZbutLoveLSU
Guy was the biggest prick I’ve ever met prior to BCS NC in 2003. So arrogant and full of himself.....threw a fit that people didn’t know who he was (compared to game day crew.). I was embarrassed for him. People are not as you always expect them to be in real life. Hopefully and I’d bet he’s a different guy and has grown up from then but that’s what I remember.

Well I had the opposite experience before 2003 Nc game. Me, my sister and 2 friends were waiting in line to eat at mothers and he was standing behind me solo. Got to talking to him about the game when it clicked that he was a guy on sports center. Asked if he wanted to join us for lunch at our table and he did, just shot the shite and then that was it. Couldn’t have been cooler

In 2011 I yelled "At Pellty" and he turned around and walked maybe 50 yards to come talk to me. So nah, he seems like a great dude.

Sounds like you’re scorned bc svp didn’t hit on you and your friends like Salisbury did.
