A different way to look at it is fans are always wanting the 2nd or 3rd string quarterback. Never happy with the one the coaches know and spend time in practice with.

It's funny that you say:
in the same post that you say this:

Cue the fans that know more than the coaches.
in the same post that you say this:
quote:
This comment just takes the heat off Zach and puts in on himself.

I don't understand why people keep saying that Miles being mad at Mett is putting the heat on Miles? He's saying he's mad at Mett, so it must be because of something Mett did; how is Mett's action Miles fault?

I probably should of used the word "focus" rather than heat. He wants fans to not focus on Mett so there is not pressure on him. Purely theoretical on my part.

You go ahead and give Les Miles the benefit of the doubt when it comes to QB's.
Wouldn't matter if he was a QB or a CB because my post has nothing to do with the position he plays.
It has everything to do with a guy with questionable character that needs to prove himself in that area.
I won't be surprised if Mettenberger ends up suspended/kicked off team/perpetually in doghouse/arrested before he leaves LSU.
To your point that "Miles is the guy that pulled the trigger on the offer" I was surprised by that. Perhaps watching what another guy did (Cam) tainted his decision making. Good news is that we will find out at some point.

How do "fans" get most excited bout a QB who has never taken a live snap in BCS/SEC football?

It was never open, and I think most fans knew it.
It's not possible that Mett is just 3rd best right now? You think it's more likely to believe in some sort of pro-JJ conspiracy perpetrated by Miles than to concede that 7 months on campus Mett by not as far along as the 2 Seniors? Seriously?

Dogged out Garrett (ultimatley with good reason
If it was with good reason, it does not validate your point. It invalidates it, actually. Are you too stupid to see this?

I'm not sure you understand what "wait-and-see" means. According to your posts in this thread, your mind seems pretty made up.

I'll tell you how...They see/believe in the potential for him to be better than what we've seen for the past 3 years.

You're right. I'm retarded. My comment was unfounded. You win, Coarch.
Les Miles knows exactly how and when to push the buttons. He always tells the truth to his players and their parents.
Life is great. Everything is wonderful. Remind me to never bother hitting reply to something you've quoted me on or responded to me with.

Not, really. Just disappointed in the two we have had. It wouldn't take much of a player to surpass the productivity of last years QB.
If you drive a '71 pinto, an '80 Granada may look better.

Probably because of the long history of guys who were kicked off their previous teams taking their teams to the next level.
My understanding is that Mettenberger is just like Cam Newton. Same size. Same speed. LSU is just keeping him down.

At least we're in agreement. However, let's re-examine your post, shall we:
quote:
A time-honored Les Miles tradition: dog out the new players in your program
time honored--This means something that has happened consistently over a long period of time.
tradition--similar to "time-honored," it means a custom that is long established
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you know what these terms actually mean. It's quite easy to surmise that you were implying--if not outright stating--that Les Miles has a history of dogging out new players in the program. But not just a history, that he's done it several times over the course of serveral years. And I would just like you to provide any scintilla of evidence to support your claim.
And you can't use Garrett, as even you conceded that criticism was validated. Not that he was "new to the program" anyway.

I'm not sure what any of this bullshite has to do with anything, but as an LSU fan, life is pretty great right now. If you can't be excited going into this season, then something is wrong with your character and this is your miserable problem, not mine.

I really believe some of these people would be extremely disappointed if we had real success this year with JJ.

Sounds to me like you'd be disappointed if we ended up having success with Mett. So that works both ways.
