Would be a huge add on to the b-ball schedule.

It would, but I doubt the SEC lets LSU schedule an OOC game to replace a cancelled conference game when none of the other schools have done so. The best bet is for LSU and Ole Miss to play next week as was originally scheduled before the league bumped up the game to January because of the Mizzou postponement. Basically LSU would play OM twice this year instead of playing UF twice (as was originally scheduled). Hopefully, the league will use the first Saturday in March (which after the reg season ends and is wide open at the moment) to rescheduled at least one postponed game. Hopefully LSU at Mizzou. A game I'm sure BOTH schools would want to play

I’m with you. Just saw SOS and Hunt talking on Twitter about it.

Hope they can find someone, no matter who it is.

According to Hester and Hanny yesterday they're saying that they got the feeling from Will Wade that LSU would be free to schedule any opponent they want if the SEC doesn't appoint LSU a league game.

The big problem with us scheduling a game is that we could find out on Tuesday that we have an SEC game on Wednesday because a team had a covid issue.

I say if SEC doesn't have anything for us Monday morning and Houston is willing, we play them. We badly need a game against a good team to help our power ranking.

I brought this up last night in another thread, I would be fine going to Houston if it could happen. However Houston may want to travel to guarantee this being a Quad 1 opp.

Whatever it takes make it happen. I'm sure our broadcast partners would love it.

Maybe in other conferences, but not in the SEC to date.

If SEC doesn't schedule LSU and Ole Miss, then I would be all about them playing Houston.

However, if they do play UH, the game would almost assuredly be over there for 2 reasons:

1 - Houston is losing 2 home games, which is creating this opening; so I can't see them losing 2 at home only to agree to travel for a replacement.

2 - LSU and UH had actually entered into a contract last offseason to play this year and next. The game this year was supposed to be in Houston, with UH coming to Baton Rouge next season; so they would likely want to maintain that so that LSU can assure that UH will honor the return trip for next season.

I don't think UH would be too worried about this being a Q1 or Q2 game. They currently sit at #5 in the NET with a 2-0 record against Q1; so their resume is pretty well built. Plus LSU sits just outside what would be needed for them to count as a Q1 on Houston's homecourt; so the chance would still be there that LSU could finish #30 or better in the NET, which would give UH a Q1 game anyway.

Also, if lsu wins Saturday they could be inside top 30 of net anyway.

If these teams were to play, it would probably be in Houston. UH had two home games postponed, and doubt they'd want to travel. Houston had a postponement earlier this year and were close to scheduling a neutral game against Gonzaga, but talks fell.

Houston will probably look at UT or Baylor before LSU. UH is also pretty set. They'll most likely be a two seed. LSU needs another big win, so we probably want this to happen more than Houston which leads me to believe we would have to go there to play
