If E doesn’t retire next season then I believe Brady will be Co-OC and he retires the following season.

I actually think it should be this...

I talked to someone pretty close to Steve who thought at the start of the offseason that this would be his final year, but now thinks he's going to probably stick around for the next few years and just transition to a job with fewer and fewer responsibilities each year.

There's alot to be said for what Clemson is doing by retaining their coaches. Recruits notice and dont care to be recruited by a different coach every year. If there's anything I can say to Aranda in person it would be, the grass is not always greener on the other side. We have obvious growth going in the right direction and us LSU fans would really appreciate if he was a part of a dynasty.

Why would you think LSU wouldn't keep him ?

Isn't he already making like 400k a year right now?
400K won't cut it. Will need to be close to Aranda's deal, and with co-OC title.

Certainly if the offense progresses as everyone hopes it will then I think many people would expect SE to step down or retire and for Joe Brady to assume full control of OC

If the year goes well and E thinks Brady is ready, he'll probably step back and let Brady take the reins. He might wait til after next year. But Brady is transparently the successor to E. E never wanted the job.

unless he gets a OC offer

It's only two games so offers won't be going out just yet but it sure looks like he has installed the New Orleans Saints offense in one off-season. And with a bunch of sophomore WRs. There are a lot of eyes on Joe Brady this morning

It's easy to say that about Aranda, when he makes more than most College "HEAD" Coaches.... lol

He won't have the LUXURY of waiting a year.... (Reality)
and Reality is, if we don't give him an insane pay raise, someone else will give him an offer he can't refuse.....

Why would we have to replace Brady next season? LSU always has one of the highest paid coaching staffs in the country.

Next year Brady will be the OC of whoever drafts Burrow.

Payton jealous of Brady? Lol Payton is considered one of the best offensive minds in ALL of football so I doubt he was jealous of Brady.

The only way hes leaving is if he wants to be a OC for an NFL team. LSU will not let any other College team outbid them for his services on offense.

Steve needs to take a step back and Brady needs the OC and assistant HC titles

Steve will be named assistant HC and go they will be CO OC next year.

Steve and Joe will get a bump to about 2 million combined. With the majority being for Brady. Then the next year, if all goes well Steve transitions again and Joe remains the OC. One year after that he will be the head coach at Michigan State.

Rabalais was talking about this on the radio. He said he believes in the offseason they will each get raises. Steve to about 1.4 and Joe to about 1.2. Not sure about the titles.

The narrative on BR radio is that Joe Brady will only leave for something that LSU cannot give him (a HC position or NFL position)

The league will definitely come calling for Brady next season. It’s just a matter of whether Brady wants to earn himself a nest egg here first before eventually taking a pay cut to be an NFL OC.

Are we seriously going to pay E $1.4 million jsut for optics?

MOre importantly, are we going to cap what we pay Brady to keep E's salary higher?
