What's the date of the game? And yes I'm too lazy to look.

Will the light rails be the most efficient way to get back downtown after the game?

Trick: Get on the rail going south (away from downtown). There is only one more stop and then the train turns around and goes back. You can skip the line.

It's still pretty fast even if you don't do that. Also, you can drink without the threat of DWI and you don't have to deal with any traffic. NRG actually clears out pretty easily.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you want to be close to nightlife, I would suggest The Whitehall. Its very close to the midtown area and a nice, affordable hotel. Very cool outdoor patio bar. Its on Smith St next door to the old Enron building.

I'm booked at the Crowne Plaza next door. Stayed there for the Texas Bowl and it was fine. Stayed at Holiday Inn next door for Wisconsin game. It was fine too. Friends that took the train had a nightmare getting back after Wisconsin and all booked near stadium this time around.

I booked the Crowne Plaza as well. Never been there, but the thought of not having to drive after game is what sold me. Plus I figure the pool would be a good time after a win.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza for the Texas Bowl and it was perfect. The hotel bar is pretty good as far as hotel bars go. Just booked 2 rooms there again.

Don't stay right around the stadium. It's a dump

Stay downtown and take the train to the game. We did it for the Wisconsin game and it was fine. Easy getting there...crowded going back after

There are several nice hotels in the Rice/Medical Center/Herman Park area. Train passes right thru the middle of this area.

Went for the Wisconsin game a few years ago and man they weren't kidding when they said you need to be on the monorail about 2 hours early to make it to the game from downtown. We pregamed downtown and waited to long and it was impossible to fit in one. Had to call an Uber and got raped by the surcharge. Think it was 90$

Going to STOP attending these "money-grab" games...had enough of the sterile NFL stuff. Give us some decent home/home series !
