Burrow is a DT QB Nuss is not and that's okay.

Last year at this time we were complaining that JD ran the ball too much….we all know how that story ended!

Burrow was listed as a DT QB as a recruit and is bigger, stronger, and more athletic than Nuss.

I thought I heard a rumor in preseason that Nuss cleared 20 mph or something to do with him having pretty good speed.

I don't think Burrow is faster than Nuss, just more willing and skilled as a runner.

There were several times last night that Nuss should have taken off and ran and he didn’t, even the commentators mentioned it several times. With more experience hopefully he will learn to just go and not retreat and throw off his back foot like he did all night.

There were at least 4. It would have changed the game dramatically.

You’re 100% correct, hopefully with more starts he will start seeing those opportunities more often.

Maybe Burrow called Nuss and said, "Watch what I do tonight when the lane opens up."

I wholeheartedly agree. I do not think Nuss will be a high draft pick unless he shows that he can run somewhat. He hast to do just a little, but if he doesn’t do any, draft will severely fall. And worse than that, the tigers could lose some games because of that. He’s got the strap it on and be tough.

I dont think it has anything to do with him not being tough enough. He just has it programmed in to dish the ball and stay in the pocket.

We dont need a dual threat. We just need him to be accounted for by the defense

It’s definitely not about being dual threat. It’s about extending drives and Giving what the defense gives you, even if it means involve you running the football and putting yourself slightly at risk

Just like Daniel Jones for the New York Giants just got a first down, running the ball and Putting himself out there and being a football player

In fact, I don’t see how LSU can ever effectively run the football out of the shotgun formation when the quarterback has never shown the defense that he is any threat to run the football on a zone read or On a read pass option when everything else breaks down. That’s why I think our running game sucks.

It's definitely part of it. I'm just glad that our pass blocking is really good or defenses would just pin their ears back and tee off all game.

Nuss was afforded multiple opportunities to run for significant yards against the Rebels for a reason: The Rebs knew he wouldn’t do it.

Thats what im saying….every now and then you have to take what they give you and run. My point is that i dont think its a toughness thing holding him back.

You don’t need to be a DTQB to pick up 6-7 yards when there’s not a defender in sight
