Mauck was already accepted into dental med school and as said had played baseball for a few years. He's a bad example.

I don't think a NC QB, with a LOADED team returning is a bad example.

i mean he couldve came back and maybe got drafted a little higher, but he also couldve lost the starting job and not got drafted at all by coming back

there was no guarantee he was gonna beat out Jamarcus for the starting job

and somehow your argument that Mauck shouldve stayed another year and somehow improved his draft stock substantially by being 26 on draft day is reasonable?

Trey Quinn as the last pick in the draft got 2.5 million the first pick of the 4th round got 3.2 million 150 picks before him. improving draft grade by staying an extra year just isnt worth it

Quinn is only guaranteed 69,000. If he plays 4 years he’ll get 2.5M

Honest question - is our drug testing protocol mor rigorous than other schools?

No but we reinforce and punish it differently than what the NCAA requires. I'm OK with that.

because when the nfl changed the rookie salary scale it made it so it doesnt matter when u get drafted. its all about gettin to the league early to get to your second contract as fast as possible to maximize your earnings during your prime

and i know some of you guys will find this impossible to believe, but being a full time professional football player year round is actually better for your development than being a "student-athlete" because of restrictions NCAA puts on practice hours

^ This is the reason. You can either accept it or choose not to.

It not only happens in football but players are getting bad advice in basketball also. I don't know who is giving the advice but it is terrible.
