Scoring, aka timely hitting, is our problem. Of the 11 guys who regularly see ABs, 4 are below .300. On an average game night, it’s 6 of 9 over .300. That’s pretty solid. But GOOD GOD can we leave some dudes on base.
In SEC play LSU is tied for 5th in batting average but 9th in runs per game. The average number of runs scored by SEC teams is 171.94. LSU has scored 170 runs. So in other words, LSU is perfectly average when it comes to scoring runs in SEC play.

If Curiel, Brown and Frey all have good games these next two we could finish conference play potentially with 5 hitters hitting over .300 in SEC play. That seems pretty good. The driving in of runs is concerning. Brown is 2nd on the team in RBI in conference play and for a team that struggles at times to score runs, not having him in the lineup seems questionable. The RBI leader is Curiel who has 135 plate appearances to Browns 79. I don’t know what Curiel splits are against lefty’s but lately it can’t be good. Not saying we take him out of the lineup, but if he is untouchable then why isn’t brown? Brown is gonna have to hit left handed pitching next year. Btw if you take out Beck, Brown also leads the team in OPS in conference as well at .952
Which brings me to my next point. Is it time to go
1) Curiel
2) Frey
3) Dickinson
Frey has been on absolute fire lately. I know CJJ believes in the analytics and the #2 batter is gonna get an extra at bat per game or whatever, but it seems like right now we would want Frey getting that extra at bat. There was at least once yesterday where I remember thinking that I would rather have him up instead of Jones. Jones at 4 or 5 could do him some good. Especially if we get some guys on base and they have to pitch to him.

100% correct, outhit SC 11 to 8. They usually out hit teams. Just can’t seem to turn it into runs.

It’s bizarre how the offense just disappears

Very fair question. I would like to see Curiel's splits as well, but you make a great point. I guess the argument you could make is that if Brown was starting every game against lefties, his stats wouldn't be as good, or if you took away Curiel's at bats against lefties, his stats would be boosted.

100% agree - Stanfield should have been moved up in this lineup a long time ago.

we have been watching his non timely hitting arse for the last 6 weeks. 2 more games will not make a difference. He absolutely should be able to hit SC because he feasts off lesser pitching. He has a LOT of work to do just to ever make it out of single A

Right, if you score more than your opponent you win every time.

Yeah I think it's time. In SEC games, Stanfield has the same amount of hits as Jared Jones in 30 fewer at bats. He also has 14 doubles which is by far the team lead (2nd place has 7).
I'd put Braswell in the 9 hole. He has a good OB% which is what you want there.
