Splash hires often flop. See Brian Kelly.

Brian Kelly was not a splash hire. It was a stupid one

With Kiffin being such a splash/exciting hire, if LSU misses on him, will you care less about football?

No way…

I have been following LSU football a long time, and every coach that I was excited about (splash hires) have invariably been dissapointments and every coach that I have never heard of has turned out to be a stellar coach.

There seems to not be much correlation at all between what a coach has done with past teams vs. what he will do when he changes teams.

I’m about as least interested in College football as I’ve ever been. Don’t really care about the coach. LSU never gets their first choice. It would take a LF ‘15, JB ‘19, or Jayden ‘23 type season by a player for me to come back to some semblance of interest.

As far as I’m concerned, I was there for the greatest and last season of college football the way it is supposed to be. (2019).

CFB has been a shite show since then, what with Covid and NIL.

As long as the team plays well, I will be watching.

Example: I no longer watch LSU Men's Basketball.

Maybe this will be season that rekindles my interest.

At this point I am OK either way with Kiffen being next HC or not. Option B better be a "good fit" if not though. You can't swing and miss twice in a row on "fit" or the spiral continues like Florida, Tenner, and Alabama bore witness to with their coaching carousels.

I kind of feel bad for Ole Miss not being able to enjoy their seas...

Wait. No. No I don't. It's been very entertaining watching my in-laws squirm

Honestly it is my age...I am 54 and the older I get the less I care when they lose. It used to eat me alive but not anymore.

If they miss on Kiffin, because of all the hype, it’d be really hard to be excited next season.

I've been slowly losing interest since 2020. College football in general has become something that I'm not enjoying nearly as much as I did in the past. But getting rid of Kelly has sparked my interest a little bit. The Lane drama is getting tiresome but I am a somewhat excited for next season now.

Pretty much where I am.

Just not as important as it once was.

I’m an LSU fan so why would my interest in football wane if Kiffin isn’t hired?

I cannot see me loosing interest in LSU, ever. I had season tickets and drove from Houston every weekend for several years until I moved too far away. This included the Hallman years. I support and pull for my Tigers. I may piss and moan from time to time, but loose interest? I can’t see that happening
