History of "Neck" - LSU Band

ok, this is obviously new this year, but where the hell did it come from? I never got the history lesson earlier in the year. I know that the chancellor eliminated tiger rag, so I'm assuming that this replace it (well sort of).
Is this something that made a come back from the 50's, or is it something that is totally new that the band came up with this year?

no really, you can sigh, just being serious. Missed the Board a lot earlier this year and I'm really just curious.....sorry if it's been talked about 40000 times since they started it.

They played it last year, just not as much. They also played "Jump on it" last year. That was usually followed by "Neck". The history of it is that the traditionally black college bands have been playing it for years. I wish our band would sing along in the parts without the horns.
A quick youtube search of "Neck" should show all of the other bands' versions.

If you've read any of my other 4 POSTS, you would clearly see that I'm not trying to stir up the race pot. Just asking why? That's all

my whole ipod is loaded with hip hop and i am as white as it comes...
what's your point?
you relate to black guys because you listen to rap?

Why do people have to be stupid. The majority of all modern music has its roots in black American culture. It is a neat new song and hey the human jukebox has some good ideas... Stop with all the racist stupidity...

Lots of bands do it. The awesome historically black colleges and Universities seem to claim it as their own. I like it as much as the Chinese Bandit. It is very cool.

Just saying "no racism here" doesn't mean what you say isn't (or at the very least doesn't sound) racist.
