I asked the question of "how bad of a year is Jefferson on pace for??" after the WV game. These stats do not show interceptions or other intangibles that obviously determine how well a QB is doing, but you get the point...

You notice most of those QB's improved as they got older?

God those Chad Loup days were bad

I know! I didn't think I could feel better about JJ this morning until I saw Loup's numbers. haha

I think this is what we are in for this year. A solid defense with good special teams and a talented offense that just can't move the ball. I remember people wanted Saban fired after the 02 Cotton Bowl when we blew that big lead on Texas.
Maybe next year, Mettenberger will be our Mauck.

IMHO, overall (passing, running, leadership, decision-making) performance as LSU QB:
Hodson - could have won championship with a little more talent surrounding him.
Mauck - championship and efficient running
Flynn - championship (with a bit of good fortune)
Russell - just short of reaching full potential
Risher - similar to Hodson but not quite as good
Tyler - did the most he could with what he had
Davey - raw but talented
Wickersham - some good, some bad, but okay overall
Booty - decision making was problem
Randall - was really out of position
Jefferson - what else is there to say
Lee - could move up a few spots if he gets more PT
Howard - terrible accuracy and decision making
Loup - should never have had to play but he tried

These stats prove my point to be correct:
Every year we need to recruit a white quarterback named Matt. It doesn't matter if the kid never saw the field in high school, if we recruit one annually, we will be floating in BCS national championships.
