a 6'6" guard would be exactly what Jones would like. Plus only a 1 yr commitment so we could still have the spot for next years recruiting class. That's what I think we will be going for.

transfer rule forced him to sit.
two years ago he was #2 in the NCAA in free throw shooting at 94%. I watched him hit 11 threes in a row during warm up before a game last year. He also was runner up to Martin in the pre-season dunk contest last year.

Hickey has been one of my favorite LSU players to watch. That being said, I'm not exactly shocked by this. He and Johnny have been at each others' throats constantly by day one. Still, is there any precedent for a rising senior 3 year starter transferring out voluntarily like this? (assuming he has not literally flunked out of school).

The most recent NCAA Tournament should be all the evidence anyone needs about the importance of guard play in college basketball. LSU will have near zero experience at guard entering next season. I don't know how anyone could view this as a positive development.
I wonder if Martin or Mickey would have decided differently about entering the NBA draft if they knew these 3 players would not be returning?

They said his scholarship wasn't extended. It wasn't voluntary.
